Depends on your environment. You want to dry for ~7 days. If you live in a dry climate, you want to trim *after* drying, so that the leaves will contain moisture for the plant, in order to avoid a hay-like flavor and too little moisture to cure. If you live in a wet climate, you want to trim *before* drying, so that the plant will dry out before mold develops. If you can control your environment, feel free to dry and trim in whatever order you want :) Both ways work well. Wet trimming smells a great deal more than dry trimming. Drying a cannabis plant will smell more than when it's growing, so yes, you absolutely need a carbon filter if you want to stay unnoticed.

Great thanks i have only got a 1m x 1m x 2m grow tent with a 5inch extractor will this be okay or will it pull the moisture out of the buds too quick. I usually wet trim and dry in nets with the extraction fan on about 20% but the last few times the buds have been getting a hay smell. What is the correct temperature and humidity for drying ?
