putting out a bunch of calcium-whatver (high absorption, forgeting molecule name) and kitty litter won't do much... unless it's a really tiny area and sealed up. Only in that contet would i bother. Like needing AC.. if you need a dehum there just aren't many options for you outside of a dehumidifier appliance. if RH is caused by the plants themselves, better exhaust from the area will do you good. i.e. if rh% outside is fine, it's your plants causing it and better air exchange can drop your RH% inside. evaporation is going to happen.. but transpiration adds a lot more by comparison. don't mess with irrigation habits. thats minimal cause with potentially great repercussions. The exposed surface area of your pots won't change, so not much you can do there but starve your plants 450w for a larger room dehumidifier but they don't run 24/7, either ("70" pint/day, if older model think this equates to "90pts/day rating in USA anyway). Will add a good bit of heat if it has to work hard. A smaller room can get a much smaller dehum, but like exhause fans, going a bit over is a good thing. runs less often. can run on lower speeds for less noise. should last longer in that context too..

One thing you might try is to take 2 plastic 5-gallon buckets and in one of them drill a lot of holes in the bottom and on the side up about 1/2 way. Put the one with holes inside the other one and then fill it with rock salt... the rock salt will turn the humidity into water which then drains into the bottom bucket - and you will need to empty that lower bucket as frequently as necessary - but it's a cheap alternative to a dehumidifier! Good luck...

It’s all about vpd. You can work with humidity if you manipulate the light and temps. Air flow is key. However—- too humid is just too humid and cause bud rot. I’m not too concerned with humidity unless it’s in the high 60s plus late in flower
