soak the pot dont water a circle around the plant thats not a sane approach to plants in general and wait for the pot to get lighter again

Depends on the size of the pot and the water holding capacity of your soil mix. However, there is no need to water every day, just water thoroughly until there is some water coming out of the bottom of the pots, then leave them until the top inch/2-3cms of the soil surface has dried out before watering again. Sticking your finger into the soil makes the best "moisture meter" in the world! Hope this helps, Organoman.

Many of my attempts don't make it past seedling.What could be the problem? Done 3 grows now. Each time germinated several seeds. I can almost always get a tap root but when I plant, many never sprout and those that do sprout, half remain small and never grow past 2 little leaves. I'm always growing autos.

Plant delayed development one of the 4 hasn't changed in any way, I don't believe any pistils have changed colour in the past 2 weeks, I thought it may have been a salt build up issue but I flushed it a heap of times and still nothing. The whole plant is suppose to be purple.

We have issues with pests but i'm not sure what they are. They are like little black flies. With very small round bodies, and their wings are transparent and a bit bigger than their bodies. They are leaving their little white eggs or larvae under the leaves. Any suggestions???
