I removed the hood from the home AC to run cold air directly into the grow tent with a 4 inch duct at the bottom. I have an inline fan to push hot air out to balance out the air pressure at the top.
Is this a good idea or should I just have a fan inside with no in or out?

Hey buddy, I’ve done exactly the same like you do.I take my inhale air directly from my AC and exhaust with two 6 inches fan.It will greatly lower the temp in the tank.Also don’t forget to put another fan in your grow tent for air circulation around the plant.Happy growing..

what @ Bloombuster said is right! Hot air goes up, so if you put cold air in, put it in the floor level, so it will pass thru the whole tent until it leaves on the top of the tent!

Also another thing, you are wrong with your inhale line.Inhale line must be at the bottom because cold air stay low.And exhaust hot air from top.Happy growing..

This should work fine as long as the temps don’t get too cold when the lights turn off! I have a very similar setup & it works great! Plants are looking great! Hope this helps, happy growing!✌️🏼🌱

I can't control temperature. I'm so discouraged.How are you guys keeping temperatures down!? I have an hlg 600 Rspec at 50% power and the Temps won't go below 81 degrees with the light on. Best way to keep a tent in the loft coolCooling the loft... so I've got my tent in the loft, I have a 4" inline extracting from the tent and a 6" inline feeding air into the loft. This works perfectly the majority of the time.. I can keep things at 25°c with ease. But on hot days the tents gets too hot....

High humidity during floweringI don't have an exhaust fan since this is my first growth and I'm quite on a budget
my humidity averages around 65-75%
I know high humidity increases risk of mould and bud rot

Temp fluctuatesWith the Heater I have(analog setting) fluctuates (needs to drop 6 degrees) before kicking on. So my Lights off temp fluctuates from 67F lowest(about 5min) to peak 74F(<5min) maintaining an average of 70F lights off. Is this too much of a swing?

Are (constantly) high daytime temperatures a huge problem in flower?My day temperature since turing my light up to max during flower are reaching 29-30c | 84.2 - 86f, while the daytime RH is at roughly 40% - 50%.
Is the high temperature something to be concerned about?
pics 1 and 2 are the exact same data as pics 3 and 4, just set to c/f each.

Ventilation setupDo I need more than just carbon filters and 2 fans in my 18"×18"×48" grow tent?
I bought 6 inch round carbon filters that are about 1/2" thick. And put them in the vent holes for odor control and I have a hanging fan at the top of tent and a small fan for exhaust. Is it enough?

Smelly room, with filter should I be able to smell flowering buds?I have a 3x3 grow tent with a 4” fan and filter. The filter is in the tent and exhausts into the room. I taped the filter to the line and line to the fan so no pinhole leaks. The fan is rated for 198 cfm. I have it on low because when it’s high the smell is worse.
