PussyWagon6969 Fox Farms Ocean Forest with ~30% Perlite mix. Switched to ~4 Gal smart pot mid week. Day 14 Update: soil dried up a lot... watered ~750mL of PH 5.8 water. Poor girl doesn't look okay after the transplant or watering... Not sure what to do next. Current plan is to wait it out another 2 days before the next watering...

PussyWagon6969 Looks like she's coming back! I'm currently abroad so updates are minimal for the next few days. Will comment more soon.

PussyWagon6969 Update 4/27 (HK time): So impressed with the recovery! Finally she's getting some height, I told my girlfriend to move the lights up a few inches three days ago and it sure did make a difference. Can't wait to get home and begin the LST and feeding schedule. Update 4/29 (PST): missed a watering so she has a few nute deficiencies...in light of that I watered her with 0.5 gallons of PH6.5 to dissolve any salts or buildup...then watered another 0.5 gallons of PH 6.5 two hours later to flush the dissolved solids. In addition, I began LST and tucked a few big fan leaves to expose all of the beautiful new growth. Hopefully I did it right!

Grow Questions

PussyWagon6969started grow question 7y ago
I think like my plant is beginning to flower...? I have not used any nutes yet but I have Fox Farms Trio and am wondering should I start the bloom nutes or use veg nutes on my next water? When do I switch to flower nutes if I start with veg nutes? I water every ~4 days...

I'd consider this still veg personally. I don't consider the plant switched over to flower until after its into its flowering stretch and putting out small bud sites. I'd go with the veg nutes with the next watering and I'd also go 1/2 (or 1/4) strength. Autos seem to do better with lower nute levels and can get nutrient burn at full strength. Good luck!

PussyWagon6969 First feed this week. Hope I got it right! I think there is beginning to be a magnesium deficiency but I’ll wait a few days to see if my feed last night will clear it up.

PussyWagon6969 Yesterday evening (day 35) she was stretching to about 6" high and the soil was about an inch lower than when I started. So I removed all of the LST ties and added another inch of soil. Honestly, I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do but I didn't want any roots become exposed should the soil have lowered further after the next few waterings. I noticed the lower leaves were having brown spots that seem to match that of a Cal or Mag deficiency so I added that to the latest feed. Once I fed her, I tucked all of the leaves and tied down 5 stems that look like they will be the biggest bud sites. On the next grow, I think I'll add even more perlite to the mix. NOTE: ALL LOGGED MEASUREMENTS TAKEN AT THE BEGINNING OF EACH WEEK.

PussyWagon6969 Gave her her first feed of Bloom Nutes last night! I did mix in a very low level of grow big (nitrogen rich) nutes because she's still stretching and also didn't want to raise the PPM to much. Interestingly my tap water usually runs around PH 8.0 and requires a bit of PH down to get it in the right range. However, when I mixed all of the nutes together last night the PH was 6.8 without adding any buffer solution. So that was a pleasant surprise and definitely helped keep the PPM down in a tolerable range (I think?). Really excited to see here in the next phase of development.

PussyWagon6969 The defoliation session last week is really starting to show results. The bud sites are stretching and exposed smaller sites are showing a lot more white hairs. I saw a gnat a or two but haven’t seen any leaf damage from them... my small fan is blowing through the canopy so that might be why there isn’t any damage, it’s to windy to land.

PussyWagon6969 I actually diluted this feed a bit because the ppm was reading ~850. I poured out ~15% and topped off with normal tap. After it read: PH 6.6 and PPM 766. Got a note from someone on Reddit saying the leaves are too green... so I'm thinking I will skip the next few feedings and just water.

PussyWagon6969 Wondering if there's a phosphorous deficiency cropping up and whether or not feed bloom nutes tonight or to water? I'm leaning on feeding because I noticed this issue has gotten worse with 24 hours... Update 6/10: Still showing what I think is a nute lock out on lower leaves from a too low PH. I flushed with 2 gallons of PH 7.2 but runoff was still around 6.6. Will let that sit for 2 days and feed again with bloom nutes and PH 7 ish.

PussyWagon6969 Hoping that the PH issue I had is fixed from the flush a few days ago. Since then, I have fed her healthy dose of Bloom nutes to replenish whatever was washed out in the flush. Looking like I'll need to do a partial harvest in the next week...the pictures (taken on the same day) show the most mature cola and the least mature cola. My gut says, they're two weeks apart.

PussyWagon6969 Started flushing because I think these are a week out from harvest... Not quite sure though because some of the sample bud I had was super heady which I typically don't mind but it was a bit too heady for my taste.

Week 12. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

8/10

Chopped down with 276g wet 20g wet from the other week. Lots of stalks on the weight so I'll update with dry weights (no stalks in a few days. Had great day trimming with homies! Update 7/4/18: Yield of 56g dry! Smoked the week 11 sample harvest today. A very smooth smoke, no coughing, taste was good but it was mild. The high was extremely uplifting and very potent so a few hits took me into the atmosphere pretty quickly. Still surprised that I grew this lol. I think this sample was dried way to quickly (2 days) opposed to the main harvest (4 days). Definitely rushed the drying process 2 weeks ago...I'll chalk it up to being way to excited! This process has been a great lesson in patience. Looking forward to trying the main harvest in a few weeks...hoping a citrusy flavor will be more present in this batch.

PussyWagon6969 Seemed to always have a Phosphorus deficiency so I’m thinking the Buds could have been fatter. Not sure if it’s nutrient selection or my bad feeding schedule? Found that drying with lights off keeps temp and humidity at 69F/63% RH and with the lights on 72F/55% RH. I think I’ll continue with the lights on one day lights off another day until dry. Learned that I dried my sample bud to fast last time so I’m really trying to pay attention to get the drying environment just right this time.

First grows are scary but also exciting! Liked and followed; let us know if you have any further questions =) So long as your roots are fine and the leaves took the damage, you should be good. Maybe stunt it a little. If something did happen to the roots, you'll know because it'll be extra stunted. Judging by how you stressed it, and how well it has recovered... I suspect everything will work out just fine =)

@Jaindoh, Thanks for the note! I'm definitely stoked on the recovery so far...currently abroad with my lady watching the plant... the anticipation to get home and check in is rough lol.
