Wedding Gelato

HomeGrownFamz Just getting started. First photoperiod and first hydro grow. Seed germinated in small sponge and placed into rockwool cube with 24hr feed from closed loop hydro system. Aqua vega used to help with PH as previous grow requiresd constant ph adjustment. Looking good so far.

HomeGrownFamz She’s growing fast. Wasn’t sure the hydro was going to work in this setup but it has really taken off. Not much to say about vegging. Check back next week!

HomeGrownFamz I went away for a week and forgot to switch the lights over to 12-12. They had an extra 5 days veg! Things are getting too big for my tent now! I’ll top it and see how it goes.

HomeGrownFamz Flowering is underway. Switching over to canna aqua Flores. Ppm @ 800-1000.

HomeGrownFamz Defoliated and fully leaf stripped. I am going all out to see what happens. Wedding gelato is a fairly tall plant for my tent and future grows will have to be properly trained and tied down. Live and learn. So far happy with the results from hydro grow. Roots have worked their way into the res so I have added an air bubbler to the submerged roots.

HomeGrownFamz Frost is developing and the buds are coming along very well. The bud shape is very nice and judging by the pistils this thing is going to be dense. Hydro has really proven powerful. Next grow i will use more LST. I have been quite lazy On this grow simply because I have been busy working.

HomeGrownFamz Plants are coming along very well. The Pre flowering stretch caught me out and the thing grew massive! It was getting too close to the light so I have moved it to one side and pointed other light sources towards the buds. Overall very happy and can see progress daily. Hydro is the one guys it’s the shit!

HomeGrownFamz This thing shocked me by how much it stretched, so much so that I have now moved the lights vertically around the plant. Bud development has been amazing. The buds have that fat dense look with the slight genetic foxtails on top. I had a small issue with humidity due to the res of the hydro system being in the tent but have added a dehumidifier now keeping RH around 43% temps @ 24.5C. Drinking around 5-6 litres per day atm!

HomeGrownFamz This is one of the best looking plants I have grown yet. I wish I had performed some LST on it but overall it is massive and has no issues with development or nutrient deficiencies. Roots have taken over the res and it looks like old lady’s hair inside the nutrient solution. Air stone is providing oxygen to the submerged roots so no signs of issues there. About two weeks left on this grow and then onto the next SweetZZ by RQS 👍

HomeGrownFamz Another week down and possibly one of the hardest. These things look huge with nice orange hairs but checking the tricomes shows they need more time. The sativa genes are gonna take this thing into a nine or ten week grow. On a side note If anyone tries to grow in hydro just make sure you have a good dehumidifier on hand, if you do not have one then DO NOT try to grow in a tent with hydro unless your res is outside the grow tent. I had problems with humidity that could have destroyed my crop. The problem is fine since the dehumidifier has been added.

HomeGrownFamz Been flushing for a week now and the leaves are only just starting to purple off. The calyxes have been really swelling up. Wedding gelato seems to have a natural foxtail effect that I really don’t mind. The buds are fat and very dense so drying this thing is going to require some special attention. I cannot hang the plant whole as it has the fattest trunk I have ever grown. I may need a saw to chop this beast down. TIMBERRRR!
