Royal Jack Automatic + Amnesia Haze Auto

sko_grow Bought 3 seeds of Royal Jack Automatic from Royal Queen Seeds and they sent a free random seed, it was an Amnesia Haze Automatic. Being my first grow I was too hasty with the first 2 seeds of Jack, asked a friend and he told me to wet the seeds, bury them under a couple cm of soil and water a bit. This did not work, after 7 days still no germination, I even moved the soil a bit to see if there was progress but no luck. I was left with one seed of Jack and one of Amnesia Haze and was determined to make them work so I watched a bunch of youtube videos and decided to soak the seeds overnight and then place them in a wet tissue inside a closed opaque tupperware. 30 hours later the Amnesia Haze had a strong root coming out, Jack was lagging behind but showing signs of life. When both seeds had at least 2 cm of root I planted them in soil, gave them a good shower and closed the pot in a plastic bag to preserve humidity.

sko_grow At the end of my second week I ran into problems, I used clay pebbles at the bottom of the starting pot and as the tap root kept going deep it soon reached the clay and did no like it! I started getting damage on the leaves and decided to move them into a bigger pot (temporary)

sko_grow Nothing noticeable from this week. I was still waiting for the proper pots to arrive

sko_grow I repotted the 2 plants and they recovered soon from the damage received during the first 2 weeks. At this stage I started doing some LST: I created holes all around the pot and started training the plants by bending them at a different angle every day.

sko_grow This week the difference between the 2 strains is becoming quite obvious, the Amnesia Haze is growing a lot more vertical while the Royal Jack is staying short and bushy. Also as you can see from the pictures, I got the new grow tent and finally got to set up the air extractor with the carbon filter. At this stage if I rub a leaf I noticed that it's starting to get its typical smell. No smell in the room yet. I started using Formulex Grown Technology to integrate nutrients from the soil. 5ml per liter of water

sko_grow Flowers! starting to see the beginning of some flowers at the nodes :D This week I had to travel for work so I could not care for the plants personally, had my partner water them and when I came back the Amnesia Haze was getting out of control! It reached 1 meter of height so I had to train it heavily to stay low at the same height of the Royal Jack. I apologize for the photo, it's got awful grow light tint but it shows how big the Amnesia Haze got without being trained for a week.

sko_grow Flowers are starting to smell, definitely happy I got the carbon filter, it is quite noisy but eventually it becomes background noise. The Amnesia keeps growing a lot and getting closer to the light. I noticed some of the top leaves are starting to wilt so I changed the height of the lamp to 45 cm away from the canopy
