growgranny Still alive. Finally potted up to 20 gallon containers Saturday 5/30. Greenhouse still not done, so they are living in the hazelnut forest for now.
I feel like they are small compared to others, but they waited a long time to get in some real soil. They were light green and very anemic looking, but they are greening up nicely.
Soil is a mix of:
4.4 cu ft peat moss
3 cu ft organic compost
2.2 cu ft Nutri-Mulch
1 cu ft worm castings with kelp and rock dust
30 lb Utelite
2 lbs crab & lobster shell
2 lbs gypsum
(Spin-off of "Homestead and Chill" blog. I couldn't find ALL the ingredients she recommends)

growgranny Super cold rainy weekend. Got beat up by a couple of hail storms. So green. And shot up a couple inches. Topped and bent them over before the crazy weather hit. Fertilizing every other watering (except during weekend storm).

growgranny Still watering every other day with Fox farm grow big. Defoliating big leaves that are growing down into the soil, since they are all bent over. Trying to tie down any side branching to let more light and air in. I really don't know what I'm doing though. Any tips are welcome.

growgranny Couple of good rainstorms and cold nights this week. I don't water or fertilize when it rains. Did some heavy defoliating. Trying to get those side branches a bit longer before I pin them down.

growgranny Holy growth Batman. I've been stretching the stems out, defoliating at the bottom and leaving the top to stretch it out. I pinned all the side branches down with landscape staples. I'm tempted to fix some construction mesh to each pot to SCROG. Haven't quite figured out how to do that. Upped the watering to one gallon. It seems like they need water every 1 1/2 days. Another cold snap this week with some rain.

growgranny Warm dry week. Still pinning down and stretching outside branches. Defoliating anything that's too close to the soil. Fertilizing every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Spotted my first little calyxes.

growgranny A couple of weeks ago we had some linemen working on the phone lines right above where my girls were growing in the hazelnut forest. So I had to quickly cover them.
Finally we just shoved all three in the outdoor solar shower. THEN I had to go out of town for a whole week and couldn't water or fertilize them. They lived but I wonder if they got stunted. I did a huge soaking watering before I left and then watered them as soon as I got back.
