It's my impression or the buds are small considering that they are in their third week of flowering?

Nope, my friend, they seem perfectly fine and you have nothing to worry about they will gain more mass and weight as they continue to flower, TBH you'll see the biggest increase in the last few weeks right before harvest. Good Luck with the rest of your grow ...

JERgarden Beginning of the week 10. Plant within the media with coco at 60% seems to reach maturity more faster than that of the coco at 35%. Moreover, the youngest plant (she is also with coco at 35% ) that was not transplanted is bigger, more bushy and healthy than the other two plants that were transplanted. I read on the internet (to be exactly in cocoforcannabis.com) that, even for autoflowering strains, transplanting the plant is advised. However, it was not the case, at least in this pseudo-experiment , and from my limited experience I could say that transplanting autoflowering strains seems to input a lot of stress to the plants. Also, this stress (transplanting) seems to be stronger than topping the plant (I accidentally broke the main cola while doing LST).

JERgarden Despite the flush that I did the last week, the two plants within the mixture that has less coco, more earth and more bokashi are still showing nitrogen toxicity. However, they seems that will produce a good yield compared to the plant that has more coco. The plant with more coco suffer a ph problem few weeks ago that probably will affect the yield. Runoff EC: 1.2 to 1.5 Runoff ph: 6.5-7.(needs to be decreased)

JERgarden First flush was made 3 days ago since some buds trichomes were amber. Runoff EC of the 3 plants oscillates between 0.8 and 1.4. Maybe 3 o 4 more flushes and chop the babies.

JERgardenstarted grow question 6y ago
I´ve made 4 flushes with tapwater since March 12, but the runoff EC of 2 plants oscillates between 1-1.5, going up and down without a decreasing tendency. I suspect that the sandy-like particles of the soil amendment are not being flushing. What can I do to effectively flush them

since you have no chance of obtaining a substrate cleaner. there is another trick when the soil does not drain the water well, put a small dose of manual liquid detergent for the dishes before watering the plants or making the flush, attention has to be a 100% ecological neutral detergent, found in any big supermarket. I never tried, I don't know if using detergent in this final flowering stage can change the flavor of the herb, but I've seen great experts do it like Jorge Cervantes

JERgarden Beginning of week 14. The smallest plant was chopped since approximately 10-15% of trichomes were amber. Last runoff EC of this plant was 0.6, so I hope this value would not affect bud flavors. This plant gave me 181 grams wet, so I hope at least 30 grams dry. This girl harvest really surprised me considering all the problems she have with ph stability and salts-build up. The smell of the buds is really strong, like a citric cheese. The other contemporary plant is still showing full milky trichomes and just one or two amber trichomes by sample, so I will give her a few more days. The youngest plant is still depicting 60-80% milky trichomes, so I think she will be harvested next week. Next week I will be updating dried bud weight of the chopped girl and wet weights of the other two plants!

I find this strain veeeeery resistant. I had some ph and salts build up problems (two times the runoff ph was almost 9.5 and runoff EC around 3000 or 4000!!!!), but these ladies never gave up! The buds are full of resin and the smell is veeeery strong, with a mixture of some citric and cheese, but in general a very nice smell. Can´t wait to made my smoke report! UPDATE. I smoked small buds that started to curing about a week ago. I gotta said that the flavor and smell of the buds are unbelievable, so can´t imagine how gonna be those aspects once these buds are cured for a month. The travel was very pleasant, with a high travel at the beginning, stable for a while and then come a relaxed effect. Veeery nice strain! Sorry for my english in this smoke report, but sometimes don´t know how to do it in english.

JERgarden For being my first grow that I finally could finish (few months ago I had pest problems with one run), i´m very satisfied with the decent harvest, considering the problems with ph instability and salts build-up. I The girls that I chopped 6 days ago gave me 181 grams (40 grams of dried buds) and is now in the curing phase. For this second part of the harvest, the trimming took me 4 hours because I tried to remove stems and most of the small leaves in order to have a more accurate bud´s weight. In this sense, the second girl, the one with the LST gave me 212 grams, while the third girl (didn´t do any growth technique) gave me 178 grams. In total, I harvested 571 grams, so I hope at least 120 grams of dried buds. Overall, I learned a lot with this grow. I could test two different combinations of soil blends and also see if its better to transplant autoflowers or not. Despite the differences between the harvest are not so pronounced, I could say one could transplant an autoflower strain and do LST, but without topping. If one want to top the lady, then I think is better to not transplanting and just top and LST. For the next run, I will try to stay with the soil mixture low in coco (at 35-40%), no transplanting and do a mix of topping and LST. Next week will be updating dried weight of the last two chopped girls, and hope to make the smoke report after at least two or three weeks of curing. Thanks to all!

Hi, where did you find the rack to hold up ur plants?

JERgarden commented6y ago
@MidwestBudz, men, those racks were literally garbage at my girlfriend´s house. I think they come from a barbecue, and I just put them a plastic mesh. Hope you find what you need. 👽
