happytrees Seed placed directly in moistened jiffy pellet. No soak, no paper towel. Distilled water only until first leaf set, then light solution mixed around 300 ppm/6.0 ph at day 5. Seedling and taproot popped out in 2 days. Sprinkled Great White all over the bottom and sides of jiffy pot, making sure not to smother taproot. Transferred into jiffy pot with triple buffered coco/perlite 50/50 mix. 7.5ml/gal calmag+ @ 5.8 ph for buffer solution. QB288 LM301b 3000k Quantum Board LED set @ 25% power. Placed under 24/0 light for the first 4 days, then 20/4 Using salt lamp (improvising) as a dimmable heat source to keep temp consistent for germination.

happytrees Taproot emerged from bottom of jiffy pot @ day 8. Removed jiffy pot, sprinkled Great White on root zone and transfer hole. Transferred into 15L Airpot with the same 50/50 coco/perlite. Lights are now 20/4. Quantum board set to 50% power. Working ppm slowly up to 500 ppm by the end of the week. Cracked open a fresh young coconut (green) and added the water @ 15 ml gal to the feed @ day 11 (No Calmag+ for this day) Daily feed, watering around the edges and corners of the pot. Little to no runoff.

happytrees Light schedule moved down to 18/6 Quantum Board at 75% power now. Continuing to feed 400-500 ppm. 1L daily (split 3x day) around the edges of the pot. 5 drops floralicious plus per liter. I store mine in a little dropper bottle for convenience. Day 16 Fimmed Day 17 Added 15ml/l coconut water extracted from fresh young coconut to normal feed. (no calmag+) Day 19 Increased A&B feed to 10ml/gal, increased Armor Si to 1ml/l., added drip clean at .4ml/gal or about 4 drops per liter. Day 20 Adding about 1ml ph down to solution due to Armor si raising the ph to 8.0. After adding, ph went up to 6.3 in 24 hours, at which point a fresh 5.8 ph solution was fed. Day 21 Runoff water coming out at 440ppm and 6.2ph. Air dome turned on.

happytrees Day 22 QB288 at 100% output. Same feed. Day 23 FIM #2, snipped lower this time. FIM #1 (week 3) was snipped slightly higher than needed to divide the top cola (fuck, I really missed) You can tell it was snipped too high by looking at the recovered growth for that nodes leafset. (Only the tips are snipped.) This small error is fine, as it still helped promote bushy side growth. Exactly what I need for the scrog. Day 24 Using an IR thermometer to get the leaf temp directly vs ambient reading in the tent. Leaf/Canopy temp shows nearly 10 degrees cooler than the ambient thermometers. Daily tucking/pulling to expose side shoots. Day 25 Pre-flower adjustment to feed: Dropped Sensi Grow Coco A&B (I only use them in veg) Dropped down Armor Si to 2.5 ml/gal instead of 4ml Switched feed to Jacks 321: -Jacks Hydroponics @ 3.6 g/gal -Jacks Calcium Nitrate @ 2.5 g/gal -Giles Epsom Salt (Magnesium Sulfate USP) @ 1.2 g/gal 650-675 ppm after mixed in 120 ppm aerated tap water PH stable 24 hours at 6.0 Mix order: Aerated tap water> Armor Si > Epsom >CalMag>Jacks Hydro> Cal Nit>Diamond Nectar> Floralicious Plus>Drip clean CalMag only used as needed Weekly microbe root drench mix: Great White myco root drenched once a week, mixed only in water with Diamond Nectar, Floralicious Plus and fresh young coconut water. Day 26 Plant seems to lean towards indica dom, taking on traits such as a short, compact shrub-like shape and wide leaves Top and side shoots catching up at about equal length Training along the first screen. Second tier screen is up for precautionary stretch and tie-down support Added cool mist humidifier to keep RH around 60% Brewing microbe tea for a few days with some ewc that will be fed with my weekly root drench mix (small portion of ewc in a straining bag with tsp of unsulphured molasses in a gallon + air stone) Day 27 Put together and installed new led fixture: - YXO DOB4075 110v solderless dob/cob @ 3500k/50w a piece - 4=200w total output. Running around 350w now with QB - Heatsink fits perfectly on top of the QB's heatsink and provides more focused side lighting Light schedule at 16/8 Stepping down 2 hours every 2 days until day 32, which will be 12/12 Day 28 One month in. Time flies. Top feed in @ 750ppm/6.0ph Runoff @ 690ppm/6.1ph New chip lights cured on the heatsinks successfully Temp of heatsinks around 150f, only cooled by carbon filter exhaust. Canopy temp @ max 79f, cooled by small side fan Can go up to 84f direct leaf temp with cob/led in veg As buds develop later in bloom, it's best to not exceed 75f direct temp to better preserve terpenes *Direct temp - IR thermometer, not ambient reading Weird colors in some pics because my phone sucks with white balance Makes it look edited with a cheap filter app Using an actual camera from now on

happytrees Week 5: Not much to see. Logging notes for future reference. Same feed as the end of week 4. Manual feeding with an autopot: Top fed a few days, then bottom feeding 2L a day, spaced out 3 or 4 times. Not using aquavalve or big res yet. Mixing fresh 2L daily. Pouring about 500ml or so in the bottom res, where the aquavalve sits. Plant drinks what it needs within a few hours, then refill with same amount. This way, there isn't any water stagnating for too long. In my environment, it can turn into a microbe cesspool fast. I had root rot issues in previous grows that I'd like to avoid now. When she stops wicking feed, the remaining gets siphoned out. The big res and aquavalve are used when I'm away for more than a day. No floralicious plus or any microbes on those days. Strong tropical/diesel/spicy/skunk notes in the growroom when the exhaust fan is lowered. Daily tuck and pull through the screen as shoots stretch out. End of the week: Tons of root activity poking around the bottom of the pot and some growing through the root control potsock. That's a good sign to back off on excess moisture at the bottom. Need the roots to spend energy spreading inside the pot. Will go back to top feed around the edges w/20% runoff Microbe root-drench then bloom booster feed to open week 6 Check run-off and adjust as needed

It's full of natural plant hormones to boost growth, provides a great amount of carbs and it makes the feed water smell really good. Almost tropical.

happytrees Pistils starting to grow in. Lots of stretching happened. This one plant has effectively taken up the entire tent space Front to back, top to bottom. Canopy is 5" away from the light at the highest point... There is fresh air passing through keeping temps at 75-80f I didn't anticipate this much stretch, but I think it'll work out fine. That's the sativa surprise right there 😄 I'm mostly worried about burning off terpenes, so I may have to dim the lights down for the last week.

happytrees All this surprise stretching happening... :) I'm usually used to indicas and have my lights 14-20" above the canopy. This is wild. The sativa traits on this one are really showing this week. Have to adjust and tie down a few huge stems IR temp reading of the highest tip reaches about 75-80f. Lower stems about 70-72f. I'm keeping it nice and cool to prevent heat stress. Ambient reading outside the tent is between 60-70f. Been feeding normal 3.6/2.4/1.2 feed. Back to bloom boost feed with moab next week. PPM IN @ 745 PPM OUT @ 1100 Fed at 75% strength and 'flushed' until runoff adjusted to 800. Usually have to do this once at the end of every week. Never letting runoff ppm rise 400+ above feed. Day 60 Decided to supercrop @ lights out after a heavy feed First time supercropping. This was jarring at first, but had no issues. Took it slow. Plant fully recovered by next afternoon. All stem tips and bud sites pointing up. This method has given me around 12" of breathing room between the lights and canopy. Fed fresh coconut water @ 50ml/l This plant has been very resilient to stress and has responded to training very well. Day 63 Great response after supercropping Bloom booster feed with moab for the next 2 weeks

happytrees Day 76 Happy Thanksgiving Found a calyx growing on a fan leaf! 10 years of growing, never seen this before. Internet says this is common with strains that carry traits from a chinensis species, originating from indo-china? I initially thought it was all the natural hormones I was supplementing with from the coconut water and sst. Not sure what it means, but looks like a cool mutation Ran out of moab but also have some dry koolbloom which will work fine 2g Jacks Hydro 2g Epsom Salt 5ml Cal/Mag Tbsp Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses 2.7g Cal/Nit 1g Dry KoolBloom 1ml Floralicious Plus Pinch of yucca extract Pinch of Great White every few days Mixed in that order Feeding up to 2 gal a day Smell is more sour than ever this week. Lots of citrus, little bit of sweet. Very pungent Day 82 Still about 2-3 weeks away from chop window, not counting extra time for some amber trichs So far so good. Things are looking juicy. The fume/fuel smell is getting stronger

happytrees Day 107 Feeding half strength jacks 2/2/2.5 1/4 tsp Cha Ching 1 tsp unsulphured molasses Dropping ppm gradually throughout the week and letting leaves yellow, then just water until chop. Extra sticky frosty trichs all over with a powerful sinus punching citrus and hints of pine sol I had some airy, but very ripe side larf chopped down a few days ago that I was able to test in my arizer eq vape. There's so much citrus/limonene produced in the vapor. It's packed with flavor and it's such a clean upper high without the rush. Very calm, headache melting, headbuzz with a light weighted blanket feeling on your body. And that's just larf. Can't wait to try the real harvest after a cure. When that will be... Sometime in the next year 😅

Hanging for a week or so and dry trimming Next update will be dry weight and a review First pic really shows all of that organized chaos. Would have been royally screwed if I didn't supercrop because the topped main shoots exceeded my height space. It's not great looking, but I was thankfully able to adapt with the limited height space by also dimming lights a bit. Next try will be improved with main-lining, more training and better height control. Should be nearly 1m in max height for my grow space. This pheno grew TALL, almost double that, at max advertised height. All of that stretching gave me cold sweat for a while. 😂 Still vaping on some sneak peek side larf that has been curing and the flavor is out of this world!

The buds look so good! I'm happy for you that it tastes so well. I can't wait to try mine. Mine is all alone in the tent now and she's bulking up nicely and her smell is the best I've ever smelled. She'll shortly be joined by a few seedlings, though. Happy harvest times!! I have 2 plants hanging at the moment while waiting for the Green Gelato to finish up.

@Nickeluring, Oh yeah, I'm really happy with this strain. It may be a staple for me. If you have a vape, you're gonna love how it tastes. Happy harvest! Enjoy your fruits and keep em green man! What do you got planned for next grow?

@happytrees, Sweet, Can't wait to vape my girl. I have just started a round of autos from Fast Buds; Purple Lemonade, Auto Zkittlez, and Sour Diesel Auto. And as it happens, Barney's Farm contacted me and want me to grow some of their new strains, so they're sending me some seeds. If the seeds won't take too long to get here, I'll also put a Glue Gelato Auto in the tent. It'll get crowded in the tent with 4 plants, but I just love variety. The other seeds they sent me and which I'll grow after this auto grow are: Dos Si Dos 33, Tropicanna Banana, and Purple Punch. How about yourself? What will you grow?

@Nickeluring, Sounds really exciting on your end. Lots of variety there. Grats on getting a hookup from Barney's! Autos huh? Interesting change. I used to do a lot with autos when I started out. Now I have a few of my own crossbreeds with tons of fem seeds stored away. (Northern Lights x Purple Kush x Blackberry Kush) Easily a 12 week+ XL strain, which ate up a huge chunk of my electricity.. I'll have to dig out a pic for you sometime. Very dark purple colors, exploding with berries and spicy, earthy hash notes. Wish I had a safe way of sharing those genetics. Would love to see what other growers can come up with. Sadly, I gave up on autos due to many factors. The amount of control you have with training photos is a huge plus. You're gonna love having all that variety to choose from though! Like having your own dispensary! I've already started my last gelato seed. Should harvest end of Spring. I still have to decide what to start for end of summer/early fall. I may have to crossbreed gelato with blueberry or a similar indica dom. Since it's too hot for me to have a flowering room over summer, I'll probably just do a seed run. Something exciting to keep me busy.

@happytrees, I've been doing a a bit of autos in the past. If you can get them to grow fast in veg, they usually turn out alright. I plan to quad-line them. I don't have the time to do another photo run at the moment, and the autos will finish quickly. And here it's the same as for you. If I am to grow anything indoors in summer, I have to get an air conditioner. I have up to 30 degrees C indoors at times. I'd love to get into breeding. That must be so much fun to create your own strains. I think you have a winner in Gelato Blueberry. I'd like to try Barney's farm's Blue Gelato 41. I also think the Glue Gelato will be very tasty. My Green Gelato smells so good, and Gorilla Glue is one of my taste favourites. If you find any pics, I'd love to see some.

@Nickeluring, Dude! I had no idea that blue gelato 41 strain existed! That's exactly what I wanted to crossbreed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! I haven't tried anything from Barney's Farm yet. Unfortunately, it is out of stock from my trusted source. Not sure if they will get it back in stock. I really need to get my hands on that. Blueberry is my #1 most favorite strain to vape. Phenos with sweet thick berry and diesel fumes are mouthwatering to me.

@happytrees, I must regretfully admit I have never tried Blueberry, or any strain with Blueberry in it. I'm always on the lookout for tasty strains, but I haven't found a strain with Blueberry with the correct grow stats for me just yet. I got 3 Blueberry freebie seeds a little while ago, but after reviewing expected yield I thought they weren't worth growing. I'll pop those seeds once I have my own outdoor space instead. I'm lucky to live in a place where it's kind of almost semi-legal to grow a little bit - but not really. I could still get busted if not being careful. It seems like you're in a place that is a bit more sensitive...

@Nickeluring, Semi-legal here as well. Indoor only. Blueberry is definitely a top strain to try if you're looking for tasty flavor. Not that big in yield on her own. Blue gelato sounds like a great option with flavor and yield.

@Nookandplant42o, Thank you! My co2 levels are ambient and high in the colder months. Taking advantage of it before window opening season. 😅 CO2 is a great supplement in the right conditions. The microbiome is most important! Happy roots = big happy shoots!
