GothBotanical I tarted on August 10th using a short soak followed by the paper towel method on top of a router for warmth. By August 12th, Nice Cream Auto broke soil and settled into the seedling phase. She’s been small but healthy, pushing out her first true leaves under steady conditions of ~78°F and ~60% RH. Watering has been light with plain RO, just enough to keep the medium evenly moist. Tiger #2 has been a bit more dramatic. The first seed never sprouted, so I dropped a replacement a few days later. The second seed finally broke soil around August 20th, which puts it almost a full week behind Nice Cream. Right now it’s still very much in the seedling stage and just starting to establish itself. Because of that, I’ll keep the diary in Seedling until Tiger #2 is ready to join Nice Cream in veg, so they can transition together.

GothBotanical The autoflowers officially entered their vegetative stage on August 24 after completing germination. Nice Cream has shown steady progress, with its first true leaves extending outward and healthy new growth forming at the center. The plant is compact and strong in color, with no signs of stress. Tiger #2 had a slower start and took longer to emerge, leaving it behind in size compared to Nice Cream. However, it has now broken through the soil and is developing its first true leaves, looking healthy despite the late start. The companion cover crop has created a thick carpet of green in both pots, helping protect moisture and provide a living mulch. With both seedlings now established, the autos are officially underway and set to gain momentum in the coming week as vegetative growth picks up.

GothBotanical This week the autos moved firmly into vegetative growth. New sets of 3–5 finger leaves began forming, showing the transition out of seedling stage. Node spacing stayed compact, and each plant developed a stronger structure with steady daily growth. Temperatures were on the warmer side due to late-summer heat, but the plants showed no signs of stress. The leaves remained a healthy green with no major deficiencies or spotting. No feedings or training were done during this week. The plants relied on their soil mix, which continued to provide balanced nutrition. Watering was done as needed to maintain even soil moisture. Overall, Week 2 was smooth and steady. The plants established their early vegetative structure, showing healthy vigor and consistent daily growth.

GothBotanical The autos continued their steady vegetative push this week, with larger 5–7 finger leaves developing and noticeable daily growth. Canopies began to fill out, giving the plants a stronger, bushier appearance compared to the previous week. On Aug 26, the pots were watered thoroughly, and beneficial nematodes were applied as a preventative step against soil pests. This was the first pest management measure of the grow. The environment stayed stable overall. Temperatures stayed warm but within a healthy range, and humidity hovered in the target veg zone. By the end of the week, the plants looked vigorous and healthy, with no signs of stress or deficiency. They are well-prepared for topping and early training in the coming weeks.

GothBotanical This week marked the final stretch of veg before flowering began. The autos showed vigorous vertical and lateral growth, with wide fan leaves stacking into a dense canopy. On Sept 5, a compost tea was brewed and applied as a top watering. The mix included worm castings, molasses, and kelp, giving the soil biology a boost just before the transition into flower. The plants responded well, with no signs of stress. By Sept 7, the first pistils were spotted on both autos, officially signaling the beginning of flowering. This marks the end of vegetative growth and the start of early flower in the coming week.
