greenkeepers Kannabia Pheno Hunt 2025 – Zoap Rosé
Hi there!
We are Anbauvereinigung Greenkeepers Leipzig e.V., a Cannabis Social Club based in Leipzig, Germany.
We’re proud to present our biggest pheno hunting project to date, in collaboration with Kannabia Seed Company, The Pure Factory, and Advanced Nutrients. With their generous support — providing seeds, nutrients, and equipment — we’re able to carry out a selection process of considerable scale and precision.
This project includes four cultivars from Kannabia’s genetic catalog:
• Apple Fritter
• Pink Gelato
• Zoap Rose
• Sativa Dream
We’ve started with 548 seeds. After careful observation and evaluation, only 72 plants — 18 per cultivar — will be taken into the flowering phase. Our goal is to identify standout phenotypes based on structure, vigor, resin production, and other key traits.
We’re also testing an innovative internal selection method aimed at improving the accuracy and repeatability of phenotype selection. While the details are still under internal research, this system forms the backbone of our decision-making process. The plan is to test it, validate it, and — if successful — release it publicly. So if you're interested, please be patient and stay tuned. We’ll keep you posted 😉

📅 Week 1 – Germination
Each seedling was assigned a position and ID for internal tracking. Tagging and documentation were completed during this first week.
Seeds were placed directly into Eazy Plugs, pre-soaked with osmosis water adjusted to pH 5.6, with no nutrients added at this stage.
After germination, the first watering was done using a light nutrient solution:
Advanced Nutrients – Cultivator Series (Base & Grow)
EC: 0.9
pH: 5.7
Out of 110 seeds, 105 germinated successfully, resulting in a germination rate of 95.5%.
We observed that the 44W LED lights used during early germination may have been too weak — or placed too high — which led to some stretching. We’ve since moved the seedlings under stronger lights to avoid further elongation.

greenkeepers 🌸 Zoap Rosé – Week 2: Selection Begins
Week 2 brought the first selection phase for Zoap Rosé. From 105 seedlings, we chose 30 standout individuals, including 2 control plants marked with red tags.
Each plant was carefully evaluated with macro photos taken on day 5 and day 8 post-germination. The key traits showed up clearly and consistently, making the decision process smooth and backed by visual confirmation.
After selection, the plants were transplanted into 1L pots and given a nutrient mix based on Base & Grow (Advanced Nutrients Cultivator Series) and Voodoo Juice Plus with RO water, adjusted to pH 5.9 and EC 1.4.
Root tips started showing at the base of the pots by the end of the week, which aligns with our crop steering approach: encouraging dry-backs and active root searching.
Weather conditions have been on our side — with cooler, post-summer temperatures keeping the room around 28°C. To maintain optimal humidity, we relied on the Pure Fogger (up to 4 L/h output) to hold 68% RH, and used Provent fans for consistent airflow.
Under these conditions, VPD is around 1.0 kPa, ideal for rooting and early veg development — which Zoap Rosé seems to be responding to beautifully.

greenkeepers Week 3 – Zoap Rosé – Root Rush, Final Cut & Ready for the Flip 🌹
From the original 130 plants, 18 Zoap Rosé were selected for the main room — the best 16 looking ones plus 2 control plants. Another 48 plants were moved to a separate room to flower there as well, and the rest that didn’t make it into either room were removed so we can focus entirely on the top performers.
Once transplanted into 7 L pots, Zoap Rosé quickly established new root growth, with fresh white roots reaching the bottom within days. Growth remains balanced and uniform across all selected phenotypes, with early trichome formation already visible on the newest leaves.
The canopy benefits from The Pure Factory LED Expert 720 W panels 💡, which have provided consistent, even lighting since the start of the cycle.
EC was raised to 2.0 using Cultivator Series base and grow formulas, with Voodoo Juice to further stimulate root health. Foliar feeding has kept leaves in optimal condition. This week, we also introduced beneficial insects — Amblyseius cucumeris and Amblyseius californicus — as a preventive measure against thrips and other potential pests.
Flipping in Week 4 will ensure Zoap Rosé remains compact, with even light distribution and enough space for every plant as flowering begins.

greenkeepers Week 4 – Zoap Rose – Flip, Stretch & Uniform Canopy 🌹
Zoap Rose also entered flowering this week. As with the other cultivars, the early flip was essential to manage stretch within the high-density setup. Plants responded smoothly, and the stretch phase is now clearly underway.
Nutrition has been adjusted with the switch from Advanced Nutrients Cultivator Series Powder Line – Base + Grow to Base + Bloom, alongside the supplements: Voodoo Juice Plus Tablets to maintain strong roots, Big Bud to build flower potential later on, Bud Factor X to increase resin capacity, Sensizym for root health and nutrient efficiency, and Bud Candy to enhance aroma and microbial activity.
We continued foliar applications using algae extracts and Tasty Terpenes OG Organics, providing natural stress relief and a boost to terpene pathways. A first light defoliation was performed to open up the canopy and support airflow as the plants stretch.
Humidity was lowered to 63% RH, kept in balance by the Pure Factory Pure Fogger in combination with the Industrial Dehumidifier, creating a stable environment for this stage.
Across the 18 phenotypes, Zoap Rose is developing with steady vigor and consistent internode spacing. Growth is relatively even considering the diversity of phenos, which makes canopy structure uniform and easy to manage.

greenkeepers 🌱 Week 5 – Zoap Rosé 🌹💨
The Zoap Rosé are filling out beautifully. Some girls stretched faster, so this week we organized the plants by size and cultivar to give each one the best possible light. The difference in structure is clear, but the overall canopy looks healthier and more balanced now.
Cloning day was also a success – two clones per Zoap Rosé with Elite 91 Clone Solution and Eazy Plug CT104C. So far, this has proven to be the most reliable method in our setup, and we’re happy with the consistency.
Foliar feeding continued, with Tasty Terpenes and B-52 included, keeping the leaves vibrant and the growth steady.
Zoap Rosé is showing a mix of elegance and vigor – a beautiful cultivar in the making.

Disclaimer from the author: this update begins with a short introduction from Matías, followed by the plant report.
This week we’ve been a bit behind with pictures, as we are working on multiple projects at the same time. Still, we’re excited to share an important milestone: since September we are finally officially employed within the club. For us, this marks the step from hobby to craft, both in content creation and in the cultivation of this wonderful plant.
Bit by bit, we are building something sustainable – a project that not only supports itself but also creates opportunities for others. It’s about laying the foundation for more jobs, more projects, and more recognition around cannabis, something that for too long had to remain hidden. Just a couple of years ago, I could never have imagined this becoming reality, and yet here we are.
For that, I feel nothing but gratitude – to our club members, our partners, our friends, our collaborators and the authorities. Without your trust and support, none of this would be possible. It’s crazy to think that only a small number of people in Europe can say this today, considering how incipient the legal industry still is. Even more so as an immigrant in this country, I feel deeply honored to be part of this process.
And while we celebrate these steps, it’s also important to stay strong and not let anyone take away what has already been achieved. Every step forward may feel small in the moment, but when you look back, the progress is huge. For decades this plant was criminalized, given a bad reputation, and forced into the shadows. To us it is medicine, ritual, and part of daily life – something far less harmful than many substances that remain legal today. Thanks to legalization, cannabis and its active compounds can now also be studied in greater depth, helping us better understand its potential, how it interacts with our organism, and allowing us to leave behind decades of stigma. Compared to how long this plant has been persecuted, the improvements we’ve seen in just the last few decades are nothing short of extraordinary.
Now, turning to the plants: the first signs of flowering are here, and the differences in stretch between the cultivars are becoming even more noticeable. Our clones have shown great vigor – more than 95% not only survived but also developed explosive root growth. This confirms once again that the Elite 91 + Bigger Eazy Plugs combo was a fantastic choice. Thanks to Mario for that tip – we won’t be going back to anything else.
Just from their structure, we can already start imagining a pre-selection of mothers. Even at three weeks from germination, it’s clear which ones naturally reach the size we want, and which ones might need a bit more time to catch up. That being said, nothing is written in stone – sometimes a plant that looks less promising early on ends up surprising us later. Some may only start to show their true potential after a few extra days or even weeks, and in the end, the real verdict only comes once the buds are cured.
Defoliation has been done gradually, allowing more light penetration without stressing the plants too much at once. At the same time, we couldn’t resist experimenting with under-canopy lights, which means we didn’t need to strip the lower branches too heavily – just enough to keep good airflow. We’re curious to see if this small change boosts production by a noticeable percentage.
This was also the final week of foliar feeding, and the moment we introduced new micronutrients into the root solution: B-52, Big Bud, Bud Candy, Sensizym, Bud Factor X, and Voodoo Juice+.
And of course, we couldn’t finish without mentioning aromas: Pink Gelato is now releasing a sweet candy-like fragrance. Simply walking past the plants you’re greeted with the scent of an artisanal candy shop. It immediately takes me back to La Dulcería in Cerro Alegre, Valparaíso – a place full of colorful handmade candies.
If you ever find yourself wandering through Valparaíso, follow the painted ants on the sidewalks of the hill, and you’ll find it.
Each cultivar is already starting to show its personality: Zoap Rose impresses with its powerful stretch, reaching for the light with unstoppable energy. Apple Fritter leans toward a sharper, more citrus-forward aroma, a refreshing contrast to the candy sweetness of Pink Gelato. Meanwhile, Sativa Dream shows off its elegant, slender leaves and airy structure, already promising that classic sativa vibe. Together, they make the room a diverse and exciting place to walk into every day.
Finally, I want to thank each and every one of you who takes the time to read these entries. Your support, words, and reflections mean a lot. You are warmly invited to leave a comment or share your own thoughts – it’s always a pleasure to hear back from this community.
If you made it until here, thank you for taking the time to read – we build this together! We won’t disappoint on next week’s report, where we’ll share more personalized cultivar photos and details. Let’s celebrate this milestone together!
For our club members: we’ll be meeting at the park this Sunday – don’t hesitate to come by and enjoy these last summer days with us. 🌿☀️
