S3phwea Top-dressed the pots today and watered in the amendments so they can start breaking down and feeding. Took off a few leaves to open airflow and ease the humidity. The fresh intake is bringing in some muggy air, so conditions are still on the damp side—might be time to pick up a dehumidifier to keep things steady. I’m no expert, but the color looks good so far. Just trying to stay on top of things and give the nutrients time to kick in. Tent is starting to smell a bit dank.

S3phwea Going well. Think I may flip in the next week. Don't want the plants to become too unmanageable for my first crop. Really enjoying the learning process. Thinking a t-break starting soon would make it easier to enjoy the harvest. Looking at getting some bubble hash processing equipment and a rosin press, my prefered consumption method from right at home. At this size what would an experienced grower expect in terms of yield? The strains seem hearty. Thinking- Flip: September 7 Harvest Window: November 2 – November 15 Drying: November 2 – November 16 Cure Starts: November 16 First Smoke: Early December Peak Quality: Late December – January

S3phwea Gave bloom mix of fertilizer. Starting to get chilly here so have to figure out the other extreme of the temperatures… bought a small heater and seeing if it will do. Just set lights to 12s. Countdown to signs of flower! And eyes out for any balls.

S3phwea Got the Spider Farmer wicking system set up with a reservoir. Up until now I’ve been using purchased pure water since it came with a better starting pH than my tap. After running the numbers, the cost of hauling jugs didn’t make sense long term. I ended up grabbing an RV water inline filter for the garden hose, which strips out most of the chlorine and other contaminants I was worried about. Goal was mostly a stable water source because the girls are getting thirsty; I still prefer hand-watering to wet and activate the top dress. Access is only from one side of the 5×5, so as they bulk up I’m learning the back two are a chore to reach. The wicking pads help keep things even between rounds, but I’m still going in by hand to finish the job. Did a defoliation pass; airflow and light paths improved, but I may need to push it a bit further because I don’t want a lot of larf. Crazy how much plant material I pulled off but they seem fine. Light feels like the current yield limiter. The SF4000 is solid but a touch undersized for full 5×5 penetration, the lower canopy isn’t getting what I want. I’m eyeing a higher-wattage bar style light for better edge uniformity and deeper PAR at canopy. I’ve been testing edge light saturation with the SpiderF PPFD sensor at canopy height. Center readings are strong but the corners and long edges are clearly lacking. Smaller tent or smaller plants another option maybe. Im at 100% on my light and will be for the rest of the grow just raising it to keep distance. Plants look happy overall. The Durban Cookies is standing out, taller and more vigorous than the 10th Planets especially for being a week younger than the rest. I am guessing it will be harvested first just by stretch speed alone. The 10th Planets R1s all have a pretty even canopy going but showing stretch. Wicking system + hand-water combo is keeping the media right where I want it, and the top dress from last week is kicking in. Reminding everyone this is my first grow. Hoping for a pound dry, but I won’t be greedy. Keeping my expectations realistic! Thanks for following along.

S3phwea Plants look happy. I'll top dress with bloom nutrients and add some molasses for extra sugars this weekend. At this point I can't reach the back of the tent, so the defoliation they've had is all they'll be getting. After winter I'm planning on rebuilding the "lung room" around the tent so I can access all sides, I can see how that would be advantageous. For now, I should be able to carefully dust in my top dresses and run the feed line from my resevoir with the pump setup to reach the back two plants easily enough. I didn’t realize how tricky they’d be to manage at this size.

S3phwea Update on the Durban Cookies lLineage - Durban Poison and Cookie F2 (PurpleCaperSeeds). Grow is looking strong. Think I should've lollipopped a bit harder, the foliage is just so thick. I have been removing fan leaves where I see them blocking budsites... and can reach. Raising the height continuously to keep it away from the Durban cookies stretch only have a few more inches left. Dehumidifier set up. Terrified of mold or anything that could hurt these girls late stage.

S3phwea Hoping these girls start to bulk up soon. This is all organic- just being fed with water, glucose, and the Gaia Green soil bloom nutrient top dressings every other week. Goal is to see what I can do with bare minimum and then press the yields with nutrient feedings in the future. Anyone with organic growing experience - these look normal size for where we are at in flower? I know we have a month or so to go but the roots seem to be pretty compacted at this point in 5 gallons pots. I think I’d go to 3 - 10 gallon fabric pots for next grow. Let me know what works best for you.
