IllAdvised This week marked the official start of the Lemon Grow Project. I began the run with a focused, ecosystem-driven strategy: Medium Design: Mixed Ecothrive Living Soil and Terra Professional Plus in a 50:50 ratio, then added 30% perlite to improve aeration while preserving microbial integrity. The idea is to balance structure and breathability with the living power of a bioactive soil. Microbial Boost: Incorporated Ecothrive Charge and dusted in mycorrhizal fungi. A half-dose of Soil Food Grow and Biosys will be included in the first watering to kickstart root-zone activity. Clone Establishment: A mid-flower Runtz Muffin clone was potted into a pierced 1L container and placed in the germination dome. She’s showing early signs of reveg — softened edges and the classic twist. Seed Prep: Dropped three Lemon Tree feminised seeds into Root Riot cubes under humidity control. The goal is to identify the strongest pheno for long-term mother use. The autos (Lemon OG and Gorilla Candy) will go straight into 20L final pots in a week once tent space frees up. Mixing Notes: All media was blended thoroughly in a 110L tote, alternating layers of Ecothrive and Terra, with perlite spread throughout. No watering yet — pots will be hydrated once filled and planted. Long-Term Vision: If this mixed medium run succeeds, I’ll move to a full Ecothrive + perlite approach for future cycles to take full advantage of its regenerative capabilities.

IllAdvised Lemon Tree (Photoperiod) Day: 17 from sprout Pot: 1L Notes: Healthy structure forming, moderate stretch noted in early propagation. First true leaf sets developing well. RH and temp managed at 77–85°F / 85% RH. Lemon OG Auto (Auto) Day: 15 from sprout Pot: 20L final Notes: Rooting out strongly in final pot, leaf sets symmetrical and vibrant green. Humidity high to push rapid early vegetative growth. Gorilla Candy Auto (Auto) Day: 15 from sprout Pot: 20L final Notes: Similar progress to Lemon OG, stable early growth after initial lean corrected with support. Environment Temp: 77–85°F RH: 85% target, occasionally dipping to ~55–60% during door openings. Lighting: 200W Lumatek @ 65cm, ~20% power (~394 µmol/m²/s PAR). Medium: 50/50 Ecothrive Living Soil + Terra Professional, charged with Soil Food Grow, Charge, worm castings, and mycorrhizae. General Observations Stable environment and early training focus (support on Gorilla stem). Runtz monster crop clone in reveg recovery (leaf structure irregular but showing vitality). All plants on water-only schedule, no bottled nutrients introduced yet.

IllAdvised Training & Plant Work Lemon OG Auto: Continued low-stress training (LST) to spread the canopy and increase light penetration. Gorilla Candy Auto: Hard defoliation completed earlier; side branches now catching up to the main top. Lemon Tree (Photo): Allowed vertical growth until Day 22. Topped above the 4th node on Day 22 to promote even canopy and multiple main tops. Transplanted into a 12L pot on Day 23, with a strong, healthy root system. Feeding & Watering Medium: Ecothrive Living Soil + Terra Professional Plus mix. Feed: Dechlorinated water only, with one application of Ecothrive Biosys microbial tea. pH: Maintained around 6.2. Frequency: Light but consistent watering to avoid over-saturation, especially after transplant. Environment Temperature: 77–85°F. Humidity: 75–85%, maintaining a high-VPD zone for aggressive vegetative growth. Lighting: Spider Farmer LED, gradually increased intensity towards end of week. Plant Health All plants responded well to training and pruning with no visible stress. Lemon Tree recovered quickly from topping and transplant, showing no significant droop or yellowing. Autos continued stretching horizontally as expected from early LST. Next Week Focus Train new Lemon Tree tops outward to form a wide, even canopy. Keep autos on LST adjustments to maintain low, bushy profiles as pre-flower approaches. Monitor soil moisture closely after transplant to avoid overwatering in the larger pot.

IllAdvised Veg Week 3 – Weekly Grow Report Strains: Lemon Tree (Photoperiod, 12L) Gorilla Candy Auto (20L) Lemon OG Auto (20L) Week: Veg Week 3 (Days 21–26) Training: LST, topping (Lemon Tree only), light defoliation (Gorilla Candy) Feed: Balanced organic mix (Living soil + microbe support), with a focus on nitrogen for growth. Lemon Tree (Photoperiod) Actions Taken: Topped on Day 22 to promote multiple colas. Transplanted from 1L to 12L on Day 23, revealing a dense, white, healthy root system (very Instagram-worthy). Recovery: Within 48 hours she was pushing lateral growth aggressively. Current Look: Wide, bushy, and ready to fill her space. Multiple tops developing well. Next Step: Continue light LST, plan for eventual move to 20L and extended veg before flip (~Day 40–50). Gorilla Candy Auto Actions Taken: Three early hard defoliations (final one this week) removing apical fan leaves to expose lower bud sites. LST applied to open up the canopy. Results: Explosive side branching with numerous bud sites already forming (for 24 days since pop, this auto is showing off). Current Look: Compact, structured, and “pre-flower ready” even before she’s thinking about stretching. Next Step: Maintain light training only; no more hard defoliation. Focus on stability and balanced feeding as she transitions to early flower soon. Lemon OG Auto Actions Taken: Early LST applied; canopy is open, branches reaching upwards with little resistance. Training is working well with a uniform structure forming naturally. Results: Balanced vertical and lateral growth; early flower sites beginning to hint (this one clearly didn’t come to mess around). Current Look: Healthy, even canopy, happy in her 20L pot. Next Step: Let her ride; training is essentially finished. Feeding remains light and even as she edges toward flowering. General Health & Conditions Environment: Stable, controlled, and showing no obvious stress markers. Pests/Disease: None observed. Overall Impression: This week was a turning point, training established, root space expanded, and the structure for future flowering is now locked in. Or in short: the girls look happy, and that’s all we want at this stage.

IllAdvised Day 29 (Veg Week 3/4) Lemon Tree Photo / Gorilla Candy Auto Final LST & First Top Dress Today both girls got their final round of LST and their first top dressing — the tent’s officially looking like a jungle gym. Top Dress Per 20L Pot: 25g Ecothrive Soil Food Grow 25g Ecothrive Soil Food Bloom 12g Ecothrive Charge Mixed in evenly and gently worked into the surface layer. Microbial Tea: 1 scoop Biosys 1 tsp molasses Brewed 12 hours in dechlorinated water (Neutralise used) Applied ~2.5L per pot to soak in the dry feed and give the microherd a wake-up call. Plants responded well — no sign of stress from the training or the top dress. They're both perky, stretching wide, and starting to show some serious promise. Watering will begin to space out slightly now as soil life takes over and roots settle in.

IllAdvised Week 1 Flower | Lemon OG Auto & Gorilla Candy Auto Both girls officially flipped this week and they’re off to a strong start. I did their final bit of low-stress training to open the canopy, along with a light defoliation to clear up airflow and expose bud sites. Lemon OG Auto: This one’s been LST from the start, just anchored and bent early to keep the canopy even. She’s kept tight node spacing, which should stack nicely in flower. Preflowers are now fully visible and she’s starting her first bit of stretch. Gorilla Candy Auto: Early veg was more aggressive training-wise. Three separate times I removed the two large apical fan leaves shading the top, which pushed the side branches to catch up. Canopy is now nice and level without topping. Stretch is just kicking in and bud sites are already well exposed. Setup & Feed 20L fabric pots Medium: Ecothrive Living Soil + Terra Professional Plus + 30% perlite Feed: Ecothrive Grow/Bloom, a bit of extra Charge, and Biosys tea Light: 200w Lumatek ATS LED Keeping it organic, simple, and low-stress for the plants (and me). No signs of deficiency or stress, colour is bang on and they’ve responded well to the training. The next couple of weeks should see the bulk of the stretch and set the structure for flower.

IllAdvised Strains: Barney’s Farm Lemon OG Auto & Seedsman Gorilla Candy Auto The stretch has now kicked in fully and both plants are showing excellent health with strong, even growth. Internodal spacing remains tight and consistent across both genetics, which is helping light penetration deep into the canopy. They’re each drinking around 1L per day, and today they were treated to a Biosys tea to give the soil life an extra boost. Nutrients remain the standard Ecothrive Soil Food Grow/Bloom + Charge + Biosys cycle, no adjustments needed so far. Environmental conditions are dialled in nicely at VPD 0.8, with temps 75–80°F and RH ~75%. Both strains are thriving in this environment and settling into the early-mid flowering stage with no visible stress.
