CaninhaSativa Strains: Regular seeds of Gorilla Glue and Purple Haze crossed with Red Critical (all F1 generation), plus one Northern Lights CBD plant.
Date: July 2, 2025
This grow cycle is an experiment to see the qualities of this F1 hybrid batch. The plants are currently around the fifth week of veg. Two days ago, I performed a topping on all plants to promote bushier growth. I will allow them a few more days to recover before flipping to flowering.
Feeding schedule (June 30):
600 ppm Advanced Nutrients Grow A+B
100 ppm EM+ Molasses
The goal is to observe how these hybrids perform, especially the Gorilla Glue x Red Critical and Purple Haze x Red Critical crosses. The Northern Lights CBD is an unexpected addition, so it will be interesting to compare its development.
I’m carefully monitoring their recovery after topping and will update the diary once I switch to the flowering stage.
July 3:
Performed a runoff test on one pot to check nutrient levels. The runoff showed 900 ppm and a pH of 6.5, which I believe was the right time for this flush. I plan to do runoff tests at least once a week to monitor and prevent salt buildup. During the entire flowering phase, I will personally manage the nutrient salts to ensure optimal feeding.
July 5:
The plants are very vigorous and have recovered well from the topping done earlier. Today will be their last day in the vegetative stage before flipping to flowering.

Some plants are developing very quickly. The small Northern Lights is a bit behind compared to the others, so I will remove a few leaves that might block its light during the stretch.
July 10, 2025
Fertilization with a target EC of 1.2. and PH: 6,2
July 11, 2025
Applied foliar potassium silicate at 2 ml/L.

CaninhaSativa July 13
Identified and removed all male plants, most of which were from the Purple Haze cross.
Remaining plants:
1 Purple Haze cross
1 Northern Lights
The rest are Gorilla Glue
Feeding provided:
2 ml/L humic acid
0.5 ml/L potassium silicate
1 ml/L LMX
July 15
Measured runoff at 1.8 EC.
Decided to water with plain water and EM to help bring salt levels to more appropriate values.
Will re-measure EC after watering to ensure substrate is within acceptable salt levels.
July 18
Watered with water and EM.
Collected varied EC readings: one pot at 800, another at 1500.
Suspected the automatic irrigator was not distributing water evenly among the pots.
Made adjustments to the irrigator and ensured each pot was getting an adequate runoff.
Adjusted watering volumes to make the runoff more uniform across all pots.

CaninhaSativa Today I performed a complete nutrition treatment for the plants, targeting an EC of 1.5. I used a concentrated salt solution with the following proportions per liter of water:
Component g/L
Calcium Nitrate 0.6352
Magnesium Nitrate 0.3537
MKP (Monopotassium Phosphate) 0.5921
Potassium Sulfate 0.2609
Soluble Micronutrients 0.1000
In addition to the mineral salts, I added the following per liter:
Potassium Silicate: 0.75 mL/L
Humic and Fulvic Acids: 1.5 mL/L
Seaweed Extract + Effective Microorganisms (E.M.): 1.0 mL/L
I also added 1 tablespoon of molasses diluted in 6 liters of solution.
The plants responded well to the mixture, showing healthy leaves and positive growth signs. I will closely monitor the EC in the coming days for any necessary adjustments.

CaninhaSativa 26/07
Performed a heavier defoliation on the plant, removing branches that were unlikely to develop substantial flowers. Applied a light feeding to support recovery with seaweed extract, Effective Microorganisms (E.M.), and humic and fulvic acids. This approach helps improve airflow and light penetration, aiding the plant's focus on healthy bud development while minimizing stress during flowering.
28/07
Applied a complete nutrition feeding with a target EC of 1.5 using the following concentrated salt solution per liter:
Calcium Nitrate: 0.6352 g
Magnesium Nitrate: 0.3537 g
MKP (Monopotassium Phosphate): 0.5921 g
Potassium Sulfate: 0.2609 g
Potassium Nitrate: 0.0000 g
Soluble Micronutrients: 0.1000 g
Additional supplements:
Potassium Silicate: 0.75 mL/L
Humic and Fulvic Acids: 1.5 mL/L
Seaweed Extract + E.M.: 1.0 mL/L
Molasses: 1 tablespoon in 6 liters of solution

CaninhaSativa 03/08
The GG#4 plant, which is developing the most, started showing some burnt leaf tips. I did a watering with plain water only and began reducing the EC level to a range of 1.1 down to 0.8. This plant is fattening up well, but the others look a bit "thin." I will observe how they develop over the next week and watch to see if the appearance of the leaves improves.
pH imbalance in the runoff, reaching 7.0. need to lower this value.
06/08
Runoff: 6.5
08/08
Another GG#4 plant started showing burnt leaf tips as well. I am considering giving at least two waterings without nutrients to help them recover.
09/08
The watering solutions were always adjusted to a target pH of 6.2, but runoff pH levels were showing around 7.0 on the 03/08. After two waterings with a lowered pH of 5.8, runoff pH has improved to 6.3-6.4. Continued monitoring will be necessary to maintain optimal pH for nutrient uptake and plant health.

CaninhaSativa Week 7 of flower. Started with 1 plant showing burnt tips, now it's spreading. Suspected K lockout from pH spike (hit 7.0). Adjusted watering, runoff now 6.2–6.5, feeding only water + EM. Still worsening. Any ideas?
