@Paraz, Gotcha! Free lights are always a good start 😄
But yeah – 120W unknown-brand LEDs might do the job in early veg, but they usually struggle to deliver dense buds in flower. Weak penetration and lower efficiency can hold things back.
I’m currently using a 300W Lumatek ATS Pro in my main 90x90 cm tent, and it’s doing great for flowering – strong intensity and uniform coverage.
For veg, I’ve got a second box 80x80 cm with a 150W budget LED, just to pre-grow before flipping to the main tent.
If you’re thinking about upgrading, I’d recommend:
• For a 80x80 cm tent: go for a light around 200–240W
• For 100x100 cm: look for something 300W+
• Make sure it has good diodes (Samsung LM301, Osram reds) and at least 2.5 µmol/J efficiency
Brands like Lumatek, Spider Farmer, Mars Hydro, Sanlight are solid.
If you tell me your grow space and budget, I’ll gladly help you pick the right one! 💡🌱
