CBD Mazar micro Phenohunt

AlienBucket This run is a small-scale phenohunt experiment with CBD Mazar. I popped all 6 seeds, and 5 of them sprouted successfully. Early on, I noticed some interesting traits: Plant #4 and #5 showed some weird leaf shapes during the first stages of growth, while #3 turned out to be the smallest of the group. After about 3 weeks, I topped all plants and cloned the tops. The clones were pretty much neglected — they were just placed on a bookshelf without much special care. Immediately after taking clones, I flipped the original plants into 12/12 to initiate flowering and speed up the hunt.

AlienBucket Despite being neglected for two months in enclosed plastic cups, the clones rooted nicely and look exceptionally healthy. I’m honestly surprised at how well they bounced back, considering the conditions! Here’s the final ranking of the phenos after the first flowering run: 5th Place - Plant #3 • Removed early due to slow growth and very leafy buds. 4th Place - Plant #4 • Shows fasciation (mutated, flattened growth and stems) on four buds — quite fascinating to see. • The fasciation is a bit hard to spot because of the small plant size. • Aroma: Pine with earthy kush notes. 3rd Place - Plant #2 • Produced the smallest buds and had uneven growth, but was quite resinous. • Aroma: Piney and earthy, with a sweet, flowery background. 2nd Place - Plant #5 • Showed great bud structure and a strong, sweet, piney, earthy, flowery smell, very similar to Plant #2 but overall more impressive. • Highly resinous and a strong contender. 1st Place - Plant #1 • Strongest aroma out of the whole group. • Smells dominatingly sweet, very floral, reminds me of orchids, with a piney background and no earthiness. • Slightly less resinous than Plant #5 but with comparable bud structure. Next Steps: I’ve decided to move forward with Plant #1 and will be growing it in my space bucket for a full run. Once the hunted flowers are dried and cured, I’ll test them properly — fingers crossed that Plant #1 remains the winner after curing, but these terpenes are already mouthwatering! Other Plants: • Plant #5 was gifted to a friend. • Plants #2, #3, and #4 were planted outdoors during a hike — I might check up on them eventually, or just let nature do its thing.

AlienBucket The clone was really stunted and even started to flower early on. It took some time to regain its vigor. I’ve been feeding Cal-Mag since the beginning and recently added Epsom salt as well. There are still some signs of Cal-Mag deficiency, but I guess it should resolve within the next two weeks. It’s growing extremely bushy — almost like a monster crop.

AlienBucket There were well over 50 tops, but I cut it down to 10 since that’s all the small space can really accommodate. It was insanely bushy — would’ve been nice to grow it out to its full potential in a bigger space.

AlienBucket Although this was a clone, I somehow managed to train it into 10 perfectly even tops — almost like a mainline. I can’t get rid of the magnesium deficiency. I’ve been using about 2 grams of Epsom salt per liter with each watering. Runoff pH dropped to 5.5, which might be making the magnesium deficiency worse. When I lower the light intensity, it seems to improve — but honestly, I want to run it close to full power. Anyway, I decided to switch to flower today.

AlienBucket First signs of flower are visible, and the stretch is in full swing right now. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the plant to 100% health before the switch. I’ve adjusted the pH — runoff is now around 6. Hopefully the magnesium deficiency will continue to improve.

AlienBucket Health declining despite pH at 6.1 (should be okay). Key symptoms: - Lower leaves yellowing/cannibalized - Overall light green color with weird blue sheen - Purple tips on some leaves - Top leaves: light interveinal chlorosis + yellow-edged My Suspicion: Probably a mess of nitrogen, phosphorus, and magnesium deficiency. I went heavy on Epsom salts and Cal-Mag – wouldn’t be shocked if that backfired. The Real Villain? Canna Terra Professional Plus soil. Absolute nightmare. Same issue last grow: → Washed it off roots mid veg-cycle → Switched to BioBizz → Boom: plant recovered 100% Why It Sucks: - Stays waterlogged for days like a swamp if you need to get runoff - Suspect it’s locking out magnesium - Turns grows into a never-ending deficiency chase If someone enjoys constantly chasing deficiencies, this soil might be perfect for them. I really don’t understand the good reviews for this soil. On the other hand, I’ve never seen a bad review for any type of soil. Not touching this soil again. Ever.

AlienBucket So this week, I fed a big dose of fast-acting synthetic phosphorus fertilizer and also gave a huge amount of Bio-Grow. The leaves definitely look like they were fed synthetics now, but overall the plant looks really healthy — I’m honestly surprised how well it recovered. Maybe this grow will turn out to be at least a partial success after all. I’ll continue with organics and follow a normal feeding schedule from here on. I also added supports, once the plant grew in i plan to defoliate minimally — I’d much rather let the plant reabsorb nutrients than rip all the leaves off while it’s already struggling. I did spot some suspicious-looking stuff in the developing buds… hopefully no balls. But it already started to smell a lot while I was working on it. The aroma is insanely delicious — really sweet, pine, and floral. It’s such a unique smell that I feel like if someone who didn’t know better got a whiff, they wouldn’t even guess it was weed.

AlienBucket No Balls & Nanners!

AlienBucket Smell is getting more intense as expected a pleasant mix of flowery and piney notes filling the space. Because of my hay fever, I couldn’t really air the room out much, so conditions haven’t been too favorable. Humidity is creeping up, so I’ll need to turn the dehumidifier up a notch. CO₂ levels are also sitting quite high. Buds are swelling nicely, with lots of long pistils reaching out. At this stage, I’d say they’re medium dense, i don't expect rock solid buds from this strain.

AlienBucket All looking good at this stage. Buds have gotten quite fat and definitely more dense than I expected, really nice development. Interestingly, the smell has toned down a bit compared to last week, not nearly as intense anymore. Harvest is coming up soon, I’d say in about two weeks. Until then just keeping conditions steady and letting them ripen.
