joelhubbert Light is giving me trouble. Plants are super short with extremely close node spacing. Colour is going lime-green on one plant

joelhubbert Still having trouble with the grow light being too strong. I checked with the manufacturer for height recommendations for the model I have and it said 3.5- 4 ft over the canopy, which puts the usable space in a 6ft tall grow tent at 2-2.5 ft. Add in a 5 gallon pot and that’s down to 1-1.5 ft of room to actually grow in?
And that’s why a barely used 0 grow light was listed for on marketplace. At least it wasn’t a super expensive lesson to learn lol.
white hairs lower on the plant are already turning orange. No bud mass. Some rusty-brownish markings on lower leaves probably from too low ph water when my ph tester lost calibration. No hermi/sac signs.only been nute-fed 2 times total, with 1/4 rec’d amount. UnderH2O’d maybe?
Useless picture.
Post this question again with a clear and close up picture or 3 of the actual issues, then you might get an answer to your question that fits better than "they look ok".
joelhubbert Increased amount of water while feeding to get some more consistent runoff, while slowing it down a lot to ensure it reaches the bottom instead of leaking out the sides of the cloth pots.
First bit of runoff was 5.3 pH, which helps explain some of the brown spots on the lower leaves. I got it up to 6.5 for the last bit of runoff, I’m glad I noticed it now.
Any other suggestions or advice is more than welcome!!

joelhubbert Got some tents this week, now able to separate the photoperiod plant from the auto for different light schedules.
Need to buy a few out-take fans to manage tent heat with the summer coming but otherwise everything is looking good.

joelhubbert The buds are really starting to thicken, but I’m worried the plant is too bushy for the bud to develop properly…. It’s an auto and a lot of the advice I was getting was not to defoliate and risk shocking the plant, but then I see pictures some people post with the bottom 2/3 of the plant basically bare? I obviously have some more to learn, any tips and advice is totally appreciated!

joelhubbert It’s getting so close now, watching it for tricomb development and hoping the buds thicken up over the next week or possible 2 until harvest.
Feeding 1 more time end of this week and then I think it’ll be pure h2O until the end to flush the plant.
Any and all advice at this point is super welcome! Have a great weekend!
Hey guys! I’m pretty sure this grapefruit haze auto is getting pretty close. Day 64 I think but it’s the first plant that’s gotten this far (males and screwy bagseed genetics 1st time) I read that I’m looking for mushroom shaped tricoms for optimal harvest. Any other tips?
Hey there 1st thing your gonna want to keep an eye out for is when the hairs change colors like 90% the hairs change on the entire plant also the last week or 2 of flower the buds will really start to fill in and when they are getting close to being done they have a very visible look to them if being done with the leaves starting to yellow and all the orange hairs turnt back in towards the buds and not pointing up
When plant is looking like this then it’s time to use a jewelry loupe to check the tricombs. When checking tricombs make sure to only check tricombs growing directly from buds and not ones growing from sugar or fan leaves
When checking tricombs you want to look at the heads of the tricombs the very end of the tricombs has a ball on it your looking at the color of those balls
They start off clear when you can almost see thru them then they will turn a milky white very hazy where you can’t see thru them eventually they start to turn red or amber or a peaches color
You are not looking for a shape of tricombs your looking for a majority of the tricombs heads to not be clear and most of them being moly white with a few of them already turned amber
So like
10% clear
70% milky white
20% amber
Also make sure to prepare for harvest and get everything you need for drying and curing. You don’t want to wait till you harvest you plants to just wing it on drying and curing
Drying and cutting is just as hard as growing a weed plant honestly it is an art on its own and will take a wile to master
I would just suggest reading up a lot on the subject and buying all the stuff you need now
joelhubbert Fed for last time yesterday, flushing with pure H2O for the rest of the grow. 1.5-5 weeks maybe? Getting extremely close, bud are gaining lots of mass with the big white hairs starting to turn colour and inward. leaves are getting lighter green/ with a few yellow ones close to the bottom of the plant. Tricombs still clear, checking daily. This shit is absolutely nerve wracking

joelhubbert Soil ph and nute input seems to be dialed in. Taking a bit longer than expected, the company said 65 to harvest on their website and this girl’s at 77 days from the seed emerging from substrate. I’m not sure how fast the rest of the white hairs can turn but I could still be a week or more out from harvest. still keeping an eye on the tricombs colour in case.
Doing light defoil on any of the leaves I notice touching buds to avoid wet spots and the dreaded bud rot.
I think I can safely remove a lot more of the lower branches next time, which should focus power on the upper canopy buds. I’m also going to look for some of that square netting that you can hang in the tent, I can see how it would be good for directing the top buds, separating anything too close together in the middle of the plant, while also keeping the outside branches from getting to close to the wall of the tent.

joelhubbert I’m worried, getting new white pistole hairs on buds that are showing up faster than the ones already they’re are turning dark.
Is this the ‘nannar’ issue I read about?
I also need to clear up some space, trying to get a perpetual harvest going with some other plants in several stages in a smaller tent, one of which is past ready to move into the bigger tent currently occupied by this plant.
*The seed company said 65 days for
This strain to harvest, I started my next plants based on that. Now at day 84 and counting lol
if youre talking about the lowest older leaves, then this is just natural. the plant has no use for them and is putting its focus elsewhere. the plant will cannabilize old leaves for different reasons. sometimes if the environment is too dry or underwatering or also towards the end of life and when theyre needing to put energy towards buds
