rhodes68 Lights set at 50% / Metal Halide LSD-25 came up great as an end to week one. The Fast Buds LSD has pretty tough genes sprouting marvelously, First cola forming on One. Am having some issues with the CBD Crack germinating, first two the embryo was either dead or died shortly after popping. number 3 soaked and now in the soil will see how this one goes.

rhodes68 LSD growing well very happy so far with it, my mistakes failed to kill it looking great CBD Crack ... Just waiting to see at this point the germ is perhaps half the size of the LSD germs - third go Lights set to 75% till I move the seedling then back to 50 for a couple of days till the little guy adapts I can really tell how much that stuck shell cost thing 2 in growth, does not take a lot to slow em down but they are tough Final point this is the last chance for the CC this grow, it will be too far behind when I switch to Sodium for flower if this one fails. *Update The litlle guy (CC) has taken up her post and is in the pot, Growing well it seems *Update Getting a bottle of Cal-Mag and Spinosad Soap Spray to take care of the leaf spotting, either a deficiency or damned mites

rhodes68 Began Cal-Mag on all plants, week solution , showing possible mag def and this a more a safety measure as think the problem was wind stress from some very bad advise I wont be exposed to any longer. :) Began Grow Big on T 1, T2 will begin next week after it recovers for the stress wont put any more till then. T3 - CBD Crack just getting some weak Cal-Mag at 1/4 strg as foliage and water. Ok the feeding (follar and roots) caused a very slight nuet burn on T 1 so think later this strength will be correct but for now will space out feedings based more on appearance than schedule till they bulk up a bit. LST Thing 1 before lights on, water due after PH soil (7.0) so gave them all a good drink. Lights at 75% Bamboo support for T2 no LST here just let it grow in good light near a corner for penetration. Well snowed in again so using the chance to split this diary into two (LSD /CBD Crk) for the indoor strains, will be also begin planing the spring outdoor grow of sativa. Day 0 Sodium light for stretching 2/15 Checked Soil PH twice @7.0 , nuet flush (PH 6.8ish) as above Big Bloom, Grow Big, Calmag, run off tested 6.8ish Reason being that mag def is walking up the plant, so its got to go. Seems the Autos really want more than was in the soil as I can find zero reason for lockout. Flush has yielded excellent results, growth has exploded, will be adding more nuets earlier in the grows based on these results, will be feeding every other watering for now.

rhodes68 Overall: Lights to 100% hours to 18 as the plants seem to say they want to rest ( night wilt) at about hour 17 but are very cool as to the lights so upping lights cutting hours, we will see as its a learning grow. Pretty much hands off this week God willing and the creek dont rise, water and nuets staggered, may do training on T1 as she grows. Thing 1 - Training went well as far as we can tell, everything seems fairly happy and turning up. Had to retrain the top as the little bugger is strong and was pulling out the bend in the ties. Some damage to leaves that contacted soil after nuet wash so not unexpected. Not sure if removing is proper... Thing 2- Ok little guy is now the tallest as not training it due to the stem issues, have some support pressure and its taking to things. In the corner to get the best light penetration to lower colas. 2/20 Light follar feed with 1/4 strength calmag and bigbloom while lights out, just regular feeding. Plants seem happy with changes as the white hairs have begun to appear so next week is flower. They seem to really respond to the new light schedule, not seeming nearly as "worn" as they were. T2 now 9 inches tall and growing fast, wish I could have trained this guy. 2/21 Am reconsidering using the MH buld at all as the plants are responding to the Sodium so well. Not seeing any kind of undue stretching though its early. Meh time to switch anyway, this may be why finding a spare MH bulb is so difficult, no one uses them. Silica got in so putting it in the mix. 2/23 Growth exploded after feeding, went a day over long this time (3) should be only 2 it seems. Getting harder to spot any problems so spending some time with them lights out today see what we can see. See some further nuet burn on lower leaves was careful this time, a bit of claw down so yeah too much on the nitrogen, watering tomorrow anyway and changing the LSD's nuets to flower (again apparently a day late lol) , Next feed at half strg.

rhodes68 2/25 Sorry for the poor pics wife couldnt take the pics today. Back to Sod light some minor touch up training and trimming some of the old growth out. Doing well neuts changer at next feeding. Feed at half str Big Grow half Tiger Bloom for transition. Took feeding well, +1" growth overnight. Really beginning to see why people do not overly train these auto gals, it does slow em down and that MUST affect things. T1 was at least a couple of days ahead due to early problems on T2, now its reversed T2 is the healthier. Now how that affects things well not sure. BTW in the early stages the CBD Crk looked like the more heat sensitive, wrong wrong wrong, the LSD-25 needs the cool spots, moved them up front CC to rear with more light and of course heat. 3/1 Ok I THINK we have this sorted out. The low ( well crashing) humidity was making me think the plants needed water when they did not. Air flow was far less than ideal and I think Ive improved that. Humidity is now running 40-50ish plants look much happier. See what we see. RH holding at 44-47% lights on 60% lights off

rhodes68 Abject lesson, when combating a problem, heat for instance, every thing you do that fails to solve the problem comes back to haunt you when you do get it solved. Yeah took care of the heat then ran dead into cold , low humidity, and over watering. Lesson learned plants seem to be recovering, very purple buds... really purple. Just trying not to stress them any more so pretty hands off if possible from here on. Pic of bud, best she can do with that cam. Man the purp Well seems the humidity and cold was the issue (after the heat lol) plants very happy now and putting on bud like crazy. Wonder if that stress was responsible for so much purp on T2. It has it in spades. Grow tent came in 32x32. Set up 6" extractor blower venting outside, had to use 4" ducting till I can get some 6" so its being impeded a bit. Two pusher fans providing air input at top and bottom of tent. One small fan at bottom keeping air moving below. Smell is now greatly reduced (of course). Holding @ 80F 36%

Looking for some advice on when to flush. Due to the temps here they only need water about every three days. So far I have received the following advice from enough to make it look reasonable. Flush begins at 25% amber hairs. What do yall think on this strain?

in soil it's pretty simple : either #1 - three weeks plain water no run off or #2 two weeks plain water with 10-20% runoff, or #3 one week / 10 days watering only with additives like enzymes or chelation agents (humic/fluvic acids) ... the "amber hairs" cant really help you actually, sometimes they turn sometimes they dont, and for sure they all turn after the chop. You really need to time it based on the trichomes, maybe start the flush at 90% milky/full trichomes. If you really need to do it on the pistils then maybe start a two week flush even by the end of next week, one week more plain water wont really hurt. By the way now is a good time to add P/K boosters to get that fat nug with that frost on. Hope this helps ! 🚀

rhodes68 Working out issues with new grow tent. Just same old heat issues think they are solved now. Yep temp holding at 75F / 36% My friends wanted more picks so here they are. Things are doing well now that the tent is stable. Lesson learned about that ;) 3/14 Seems a good percentage have gone milky on both so one more feed then water only from there. I will get it right eventually 3/15 Reassessed tricones on main bud (not sugar leaves) looks like 25% milky T2, 10% T1, so just water today, will look again in 3 days. Edited down the number of photos kept begin and end week pics

rhodes68 Getting a handle on what to expect from these strains, looking closely at several bud sites yields a guesstamate average of about half the tricones being milky. 3/19 new pic did feeding since it looks like they can go a while longer than I thought :) 3/22 Still building so gonna keep feeding *NOTE* Now that the Pineapple Express has left my system I can say without reservation these guys do not get fed again. PE makes me very exuberant so.. yeah these guys will finish on what they have. And yeah Im growing PE real soon. :)

rhodes68 Second flush to 25% at least one more in three days. Runoff pretty clear, one more to go looks like 6 days to harvest. Tricones running close to 80% milky with only rare red or amber, 20% clear remains. Hit them with some UVB for 24 hours just to see if the tricones could be increased. Seem to have increased numbers of clear and pushed others to maturation. 3/27 Day 65 harvest both tomorrow Tricones seem all milky some amber few to no clear Going to harvest in stages, taking the finished top buds leaving lowers to ripen further. Sealing cuts with clay. Hope to be able to lower lights at least 6 " also increasing light to lower bud sites.. Besides this is a medicinal strain for us so need to know at what stage to harvest for best results. First harvest of two (we hope) on the girls details later Pots very dry so are the buds which is great. Cutting done plants watered and back in the tent, no scales till next week so dry weight only in a few. 3/29 Plants doing good, I swear the longer the buds stay on T2 the blacker they get... purple is left behind they is black. 3-30 Just a quick note the plants were shocked/stressed but the bud growth continues with powerful terp production and no apparent herming or unusual effects of the cutting... so far. Biggest problem is redialing in the tent due to loss of leaves and low humidity, the fight continues. Will have a better way to seal those cuts next time and I think stress would be minimal.

Ok wow great trip FastBuds got to see two phenos one indica one sativa. Absolutely train these plants the take off T1 was hitting twice from the untrained T2. Have some scales by the time it finishes drying but as a first effort I am already pleased. BTW the buds on T2 today... black, not really purp any longer and seeing tricones and such difficult so down it came though I really wanted another few days it was not going to be. Should have taken the first cut earlier, lesson learned. On the effects We do not smoke so this was ingested, small T2 bud that was driest. Decarbed on 220 for 2 hours looked about a gram split between three people. Terp hit was in the roof of mouth at first spreading to lips and tongue. Relaxed highness after 20 minutes began, Mind is very quiet no stress no negative effects at all except red eyes. We use a lot of cannabis and just from effects would put it about mid or high teens on potency. I am going to put on some Pink Floyd and ride the Birkeland currents... 8 hours later it was gone. What a ride. This pot has some legs, trippiest canna I ever had the pleasure of consuming. Absolutely best time to harvest is all milky... lesson learned. Testing T1 buds yeah mid to high teens on THC, CBD hit also noticeable over the photo-period variety very pleasant and relaxing. We like this much better that what we are getting in the dispensaries. Have pulled a total of 6.5 grams , 3.0 from T2 -3.5 from T1 - weighted on powder scale for reloading cartridges lol.. scale be here Tuesday and these will be dry and cured enough for a weight. The more we use the more convinced how much more effective this is over dispensary fare. The effect we were looking for is there SO STRONGLY we have to cut dosing. Good job FB

rhodes68 Growing - 2 for 2 on germination wish others were as good / next grow for this strain will be outdoors looking forward to it. Ok it loves its water but not a swamp, it LIKES to dry out a bit before watering. Was on a three day rotation seemed to work best from early flower on. Could have taken more nuets for sure but starting conservative paid off when I made mistakes. Silica saved this grow when they were being stressed and I had no idea why (low humid) it makes a plant tough, stems were wicked. Humidity, humidity, low humidity at night (18% or so) in veg it does not like AT ALL shows up as boron def but really a lockout (thanks Ilovegrowingmajuana), late flower this does not seem the case, get instruments. It responds just as poorly to conditions as we do. In short Fast Buds knows its stuff on this plant just follow their guide.. kudos yall. Cons - she is a stinker and I aint kidding in particular in late flower and drying. Act accordingly I know I will next time. Thats it that is the worst thing about growing it. Heh Harvest - The staged harvest is interesting I know for certain some lower buds doubled in size over that 4 days between them. First harvest should have been earlier and I would have gotten more from the lower buds as it just could not go any longer. Harvest on all milky tricones, the psychoactivity is so high. Yield - "looks" (yeah I know no scales yet, I a poor bastid) about average for the strain with almost twice as much coming from T1 than T2 . Will have weights when I get scales :) Best thing is they didnt die.... :D00 Getting a vented hood, dialing down the lights for heat issues cost us yield no doubt. Prob averaged 450w during flower. Over drying cost us yield but next time we do better, have another harvest this week so this ends our little journey.

Well the boron lockout was a low humidity issue , not sure how long it had been a factor, cheap instruments and they sort of let me down. Wind stress also a past issue and they look identical

@rhodes68, diagnosing a plant is a headache lol, could be any number of things, usually a combination of things and just when you think you figured out what it was you find out it wasnt excess but a lock out lol
rhodes68
rhodes68commented6y ago
@CRiSPrGrow, Seems when you have a marginal environment, and yeah this is one, having mixed strains is a huge pain. One will be affected another not, seriously considering companion planting. But I sound like I am complaining about how things are going , I am not I am very happy with what Fast Buds has done with these gentics I just wish that all these breeders and seed companies could stop doing business in the criminal model (buyer beware).

Going by weight the trained plant produced just a bit more than untrained, problem with that was the light distance problems caused by the tall main on T2 which prompted me to let T1 also continue without further training.

@CRiSPrGrow, Yes thanks you Right now they are flowering so heavily and its just going to be a thing here with the humidity till I spend bucks. (Suspect past borron def due to sub 25% humidity for a while) watching new growth closely as little may be as I am defoliating the dying water leaves to get some extra light. Heck at this point just glad not to have kilt it already ;)

rhodes68commented6y ago
@GreasyLuigi, Spend about a few weeks going through everything on the grow sites and youtube. ;) Seriously do not stress the plants, train them, and give them lots of light. Thats it man, though not stressing them is kind of big picture thing as all manner of things stress these plants. Almost did it on the Fastberry but a cold snap stressed them and it cost me. Ah well next time maybe

@GreasyLuigi, The 3500 LEDs? IF so thats plenty being 400w of led with full spectrum. I did this on a dimmable 600w HID that prob ran mostly at 300w during veg and 450w in flower due to damn things not being trained. That wont happen again

rhodes68commented6y ago
@SwedenX, Thanks for your interest. Gave them a good feed yesterday and the growth was impressive. Main problem I am seeing with not training the plants is just the height, this guy is already 13" , (33 cm), and ran out of room on the light height lol, Not complaining needed some stretch on the other plants so its all good. Hitting it with the MH bulb a bit see if this slows down some... nice problems to have. On the trained plant there are 21 cola sites at least getting hit full on by light so I am hopeful there.
