BigBudGuy And they are off...
You could consider these strains to be the peak of modern hybrids. Can these breeds be taken any further? How will they do in the same garden?
Big Thank You to OSS for getting my order to me in a week and making it possible to have them crack by July 1. The beans look great and seem to be performing in a similar fashion.

BigBudGuy Both of these got long and top heavy. A rainstorm laid them down so I went ahead and bumped them up to 5's were I plan for them to remain with the short season. Unfortunately a pest took a fancy for the Trop Cherry (can't blame it so do I) and inflicted some serious damage last night. The beetles are brutal and they have a bunch of freinds,

BigBudGuy The Trop Cherry survived the pest damage impressively. I am very happy with the quality of these beans.

BigBudGuy The Trop Cherry is forming a slightly more compact plant but both these strains appear quite similar in structure as well as being quality genetics.

BigBudGuy Again not a lot to differentiate these plants other than physical size. Node structure remains the same. If I didn't know better I would think it was a male plant of the same strain. They are pest magnets but holding up great.

BigBudGuy So far the genetics have been solid with these plants. No sign of flower as of today. Both of them are sporting 7 inch fan leaves. The shorter plant is the Trop Cherry.

BigBudGuy These continue to impress. Again, other than size the node structure is identical. No indication of flower.

BigBudGuy These plants are clearly related based on structure. We are certainly looking at a late flower here. I am beginning to wonder if they will have time to finish.

BigBudGuy Heavy pre-flower now. Hit them them with the bug juice. I have been using it first week of flower to my satisfaction. Genetics here remain on point.

BigBudGuy Finally Showing Flowers. Not much to report. Smell is insignificant but unique to each plant. 27" on the Trop Cherry and 37" on the Blue Zushi. Node structure remains nearly identical.

BigBudGuy Everything appears to be functioning normally. No strong smell but I recognized the Trop Cherry. The main stem on the Zushi is a most impressive telephone-pole like structure. Note the massive crown it is supporting.

BigBudGuy My garden is being ravaged by PM. These are not even close to harvest-able. Zushi has a purfume like smell.

BigBudGuy The Trop Cherry looks to be getting ready to finish. The Zushi is a bit behind.
