Caught Craving Blueberries!

BungeeGrows So far so good! There's not a lot to say at this stage, it's so early. The growth from pheno #1 is vigorous so far with second set of leaves shooting out. Hoping to see a little more height from #2 in the coming days. Next update will be this coming weekend, thanks for checking out the grow!

BungeeGrows Both plants still doing well. The photos are from roughly day 14 from germination (using the oldest plant for the time basis for simplicity). Pheno #1 leaf development is wild already, very happy to see that. I’m confident #2 will start going heavy for leaves as well shortly.

BungeeGrows Another week down! Seeing little more vigor from pheno #2 which is a pleasant sight. Still had issues with #1 leaning but I’ve added a bit of soil to better support the main stem. I’m starting to see similar leaning from #2 so my guess is that I didn’t plant the seeds quite deep enough. Keeping an eye on #2 and will add more soil if needed. Transplant is approaching, stay tuned!

BungeeGrows Sorry for the delay in this week's update! Had to wait and make sure #2 was good to go before updating in case I had to cut her down. There was some concern that pheno #2 had stem rot after seeing some dark coloration at the base of the stem. May have just been slight stain from soil as she seems to still be growing. Pheno #2 might be a bit thirstier than #1 but that will become more apparent after transplant. My though is that transplant needs to occur this week. In all likelihood, the next update will happen sometime after transplant. I'm prepping soil tonight so it has time to fully dry before transplanting and will update you then! BungeeGrows What a week it's been! Transplant is finally done with these two ladies! I suspect we are about to see some explosive growth in the next couple weeks, both Blueberries are now in soil that's much richer in nutritional content than the soil in their little starter pots. Pheno #2 previously showed potential signs of stem/root rot which appears to have cleared up with the plant continuing to grow and new growth looking very healthy. Lowest growth (bottom 2 leaves) were drooping constantly while in their starter pots for the past 10-14 days but now both these leaves are looking more lively ever since being transplanted. Pheno #1 looking happy and perky as always though may have a magnesium deficiency at the moment, lower growth showing yellowing at serration on leaves, some spots are rust-colored. These are common signs of magnesium deficiency in my reading, so I'll be feeding cal-mag likely today once lights come on. Side note, I've germinated/planted a Jack Herer Autoflower seed to run at the same time as these BB's. The JH #4 pheno will not be journaled here, just know that she will inevitably show up in photos (especially later in the grow) so you folks aren't surprised. BungeeGrows It's been an incredible week! Every single plant looks happy and healthy with all the new nutrients. This is great news as I wasn't completely certain if I'd ever dosed plants this hard in the past (I have cut nutrient feeding suggestions slightly to avoid toxicity in previous runs) I'd say that these three plants, at present, are far more healthy than the health of any of my previous three plants in respective growth cycles. By this, I mean that the JH #4 seedling is healthier than all previous JH seedlings I've grown. The late veg BB's are far healthier than any of my previous runs being mid-late veg. The BB's are bouncing back fast from their topping and main tops are growing in FAST!

BungeeGrows We are moving right along! Week 7 is finally here and Pheno #1 is getting freakishly tall. Likely needs more water at next feeding. Both BB's will be needing nutrient top-off very soon as they were fed dry nutrients (with transplant) on day 38. Guessing nutrient feeding via top-dress for ALL plants, including Jenny, will take place in the next 3-10 days roughly estimated. Does remind me that I need to purchase more dry organic nutes. I broke one of BB #2's main tops, oooooopsie daisey. It's a small break, so I'm hoping the plant heals naturally. I broke the top while pushing the two main tops downward to try and even out #2's canopy. Leaving her alone for a bit will be best.

BungeeGrows Been one hell of a couple weeks! I’ve been attentive to the garden and update my personal grow journal multiple times a week so I’ve been at least growing responsibly. Plants were lollipopped and height-adjusted to even out the canopy. Couple more rounds of supercropping for whatever tops pulled ahead over week 8, both plants saw a pretty good amount of stretch! Week 9 update will be in the next day or two since I’ve fallen behind. Flipping to flower very soon!

BungeeGrows We’ve arrived at the end of veg! It’s been a great grow so far and these ladies have given me minimal trouble up to this point. I’m happy with their health and their progress. They have actually already been flipped into flower and should start showing strong signs of it soon. First week of flower covered in the next update!

BungeeGrows Great stretch from BB#1 this week! Sadly I’ve got a bit of a fungus gnat issue. It appears BB #2 might have more of a gnat problem than #1 but it could be worse with all plants if nothing is done. I sprayed a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water into the soil and on the leaves hoping it’ll help. I haven’t used peroxide in a long time so my bottle is expired and basically odorless. I’m buying new tomorrow and will have sticky traps arriving tomorrow as well.

BungeeGrows Been a while since updating, been fighting back the fungus gnats as best I could, but it was quite a battle. Shoutout to @Hempface86 here on grow diaries for offering some tips to deal with these pests, which helped massively! Once the soil was dried and actually beginning to crack, I used the sprayer with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3-4 parts water to fully saturate the top of the medium and kill these damned gnats. The sticky traps caught a lot of these buggers, I'd guess 15+gnats per trap and I ended up using six traps. I haven't even seen a single one flying around in a couple days so I think we got the infestation under control finally. I'm glad it looks like this has been resolved fairly early into flower; now the important part is to reintroduce microbes into the soil since the peroxide would have killed them for sure. I'm prepping some banana water this afternoon and will combine that with molasses and cal-mag to get some nutritional value back into the soil. In a few days, so during week 3 of flower, I'll be top-dressing these ladies for the final time before harvest. It's been one hell of a learning experience thus far and a great growing journey for my first photoperiods. We are nearly to the finish line, just have to stay on top of the few things they'll need over the next 5-ish weeks and we'll see what these already beautiful (and stinky) flowers can flourish into.

BungeeGrows This is my catchup week and not that much has changed. Still seem to have taken care of the last of the fungus gnats, no sign of them returning thus far. I top-dressed all the plants today with 2 tbsp/gal worm castings and 1 tbps/gal 2-8-4 Power Bloom. My goal is to get back into updating during the weekend sometime as I tend to have the most available time to both work in the garden and on documenting changes and what tasks I complete on which day. I plan to defoliate in the next week-ish as there still isn't much light penetration throughout the canopy at this time and I'd like to improve that before getting too deep into flower. We are now in the final couple days of week 3 of flower which should hopefully mean we've top-dressed at a great time and with defoliation by the end of week 4 will hopefully see maximized yield for this plant. Great news as well is that I've gotten a backup/drying tent in my possession which will be assembled very soon. I have a smaller autoflower growing in the same tent right now and she's getting much closer to harvest than the Blueberries are (they are photos, of course and I didn't flip them until after the auto formed pistils) and will likely need the additional space with which to dry. I also have purchased grove bags to cure these harvested buds in once dried to try something new which may add tons of convenience into my process as well. BungeeGrows Cruise control has basically been set after yet another busy week in the tent. I’ve top-dressed with the final nutrient feeding at about 1 tbsp/gal of 2-8-4 with worm castings. They got water with microbe boosters (banana peel + molasses) today and will be doing a heavy dry back. They received a heavy defoliation so light can better penetrate the canopy. They are getting more caked with trichomes at a rapid pace and I suspect that the best is yet to come since nutrients should just now be hitting the point where they’ll be absorbed by the roots. The smell is almost giving off a cheesy-gas vibe but gets more complex every day. Getting much closer to harvest now! Be back next week!

BungeeGrows It’s been a slower week than lately for these ladies! Just been checking in day to day for the most part. Otherwise, we watered with banana peel and molasses one last time before harvest. They’ll get maybe 1-2 waterings with cal-mag then just straight water after. No more signs of fungus gnats which is great. Might do one final defol before harvest but not sure exactly when. Almost to the finishing line, the smell is incredible! #2 has a slightly stronger aroma than #1 with a hint of cheese with overwhelming gas. So excited!

BungeeGrows The finish line is in sight, seeing excellent frost development for both of these phenos! Hoping to see a little more bud swelling in these final days but I'm looking forward to harvest regardless. I fed in a little more molasses with their water today to boost those microbes as much as I can for the finale! I will be defoliating again likely today just to boost light penetration to the lower buds in an effort to promote any possible swell they've got left in them. Stay tuned for next week!

BungeeGrows Used the loupe this week to check trichomes! BB #2 is quite mature in flower. Her trichomes are hitting amber pretty hard, I’d guess up to 20% at this point. She also has some leaf shrivel with some discoloration. Pheno #1 has more appealing bud structure, better frost, and is only now mostly cloudy with some amber starting to appear. My guess now is chop will likely occur about one week-ish from today. They’ll get just water with no additives maybe one or two more times. Very excited as the stickiness when I even lightly brush these plants is wild and the smells are ridiculous. Still kinda giving a cheesy vibe but with strong fruity notes 😍

BungeeGrows Since we know BB #2 seems very ready to harvest based on trichomes. Sadly I think she got too light-stressed in mid-flower and has therefore yielded a very odd bud structure, which may be fine depending on how she trims but from my standpoint they are a bit rough. BB #1 looks like she could be my most impressive pheno to date. She's got very dense buds on top with lots of trichomes spilling out onto the sugar leaves. She's been a light drinker and has generally been painless to grow for the most part. Her trichomes are perfectly formed, I'm thinking that she can go maybe another week or damn-near close to it. I will do another trichome check in a couple days and if she's ready, I'll go ahead and chop both plants! Thinking BB #2 may be worth curing longer and I'll just update my harvest post once I've had a chance to consume a sample of both after about 30 days of cure!
