xaviaskunk Wanted to test the efficiency of soil compared to coco so am conducting a side by side grow with the same strained seeds and same nutrients, the seeds broke surface on the 20th august and since have been switching 12 hours under 400watt LED and 12 hours under compact CFL to minimize stress.

xaviaskunk There has been consideral growth on both plants over the past week, both have been receiving 3/4 dose nutrients since their seeds broke, the plant in regular potting mix (the one in the white pot) has stretched to double the height of the coco plant (black pot)

xaviaskunk Plants are both exhibiting great growth, one of the phenos has less leaf nodes yet is 10cm taller than her sister in coco she has also exhibited some unique leaf growth, 3 main main leaves that resemble strawberry leaves, this speciafic plant also has a very deep and sweet aroma, both plants have received the exactly same nutrient doses in thier feedings.

xaviaskunk the PE in soil is an absolute monster at 30 days, the coco PE however isnt faring quite the same, both plants are showing preflowers as they enter the flowering stage, cant wait to see how massive the soil one gets once it starts its stretch

xaviaskunk soil PE as continued to grow into a beast of an autoflower, seems to handle the intense doses ive given her, a slight niyrogen toxicity caust a few leaves to die but that was quickly rectifies ( ec runnoff read 3.7!!! the coco pineapple is still showing some descent size seeing as barneys farms page states that they average 30-50cm in height and mine is still early in flower so can hope to see what both produce, have moved both plants outside as the soil one is now too big for grow room and to keep experiment relatively faif

xaviaskunk Both PEs have slowed in stretch and they have begun filling out in bud desity amd more bud sites are appearing, the soil PE has visible trichome formation on new sugar leaf growth, I flushed the coco PE to stabilize ph and EC

Too bad they weren't in the same size pot. That will have a huge effect on the size. Still nice to see an experiment.

thanks man :) both have the same volume of substrate, the pots are however different in shape so it does throw the experiment off but the cream pot with soil in it has a water reservois on the bottom 4 inches of the pot so thats why it looks considerably larger but i filled it with one load of soil from the black pot which the coco PE is in so they had near on the same volume

I have a similar experiment going, 3 gallon hydro vs. 3 gallon soil grow, different lights though.
