known2funk Dang! They've grown like weeds. (Please don't ban me.)
It's been about 5 weeks from germination. I think we're ready to switch to flowering. I'm just not certain on how to go about it. Do I gradually reduce 18/6 of the veg light down to 12/12 (over a week?) then pop in the flower bulb? Or do I just make a hard switch?
Also, the pics included, do they confirm female plants?

Hey Know2funk,
Like our fellow growers said:
Make the hard switch to 12/12, they will stretch for another 1-2weeks while going into flowering.
You don't want to go down from 18 to 12hours slowly which will take unnecessary time.
I like to give them some root booster for the last time while going into this stage,
Don't forget to change your timers on your fans as well or give it a little breez while being in nightmode ( i personly like to give them some rest from the wind while ''sleeping'')
Good luck growing :)
known2funk We removed the crates and rocks in an attempt to gain height and reduce humidity. So far, humidity has only gone down about 10%. The plants are roughly 100cm . Due to removing the crates and rocks, we had to re-net the plants. It's only 10 days into flowering, so hopefully re-stressing them won't have a huge effect.
Can I keep stressing them and tying them down during flowering? When should I stop stressing them?
I had to re-net/re-scrog the plants. We're about 10 days into flowering. And some plants are really getting tall. We're afraid we'll run out of space in the grow tent.

Hey buddy
Yess , and you should tie them down until the stretch is over.
This is not really stressing the plant , it helps you to fill out your net. = More yield !
Hope it helped
Nice grow 😎
known2funk I think I've fallen behind on the updates. Germination was on April 15th, so I'm not 100% sure which week I'm on. I'm guessing 7th week.
They're looking beautiful, to me. It's been a challenge flattening some of the tallest stems, but i feel they're doing well now and we have enough room for them to finish flowering. Buying a dehumidifier this week to bring down the humidity a bit more.
If you look at picture 3 of 11 of my latest update, you'll see one bud, nearly dead-center. And you can see the white hairs are browning, but they're browning from the tips. Is that natural? Maybe normal for some strains? Or is it a sign of something else?
i mean even extreme techniques like schwazzing suggests stopping defoliation after 21th day of flowering because after that point the plant will not make new leaves so no i wouldnt continue defoliation at the final weeks of flowering.
i’d actually stop right at where you are and dont take any more leaves unless they were resting on or rubbing against bud sites. even then you can tuck it under rather than pluck it away.
known2funk Turns out I was totally wrong about the height of the plants. I actually measured and they're 100cm. Going to have to fix the other weeks.
I posted some better pics of some worrisome buds. Are they ok? Plus one fat bud to boot.
There's an inspection of my flat next week. While I'm not breaking any local laws, I still need to move my plants from my grow tent. Just for an hour or so. My plan is to snip the netting, and stake the plants. Any other/better ideas?
That would be the easiest method. And prob the least stressful on the plants
Only other thing I could think of is getting some plywood under the pots and using a dolly. But it would be difficult to get under and out without causing a lot of stress on the plants.
Good luck and try not to break anything. Have some medical tape and Popsicle sticks ready just in case 😄
known2funk Whoaaa mammy! They're lookin schweeeet to me! Would you call the trichomes milky, already? Or are they mostly clear?
I figure we're about two weeks away from harvesting. I've included some shots from my pocket microscope.

known2funk My last update supposed we were one to two weeks away from harvest, but in reality, we're only at about 6.5 weeks of flowering. So, I feel now, we're finally one to two weeks away. That's for the Northern Lights. For the other strands, we're three to four weeks away from harvesting.
There doesn't appear to be much amber color in the trichomes (if at all) and the pistils are looking rather Bernie Sandersish still.
I'm really close to harvest. I figure 7 days or so for my Northern Lights. There is a heat wave coming this week. I have trouble keeping my grow tent below 28 degree C and the humidity low when it's over 30 outside. Would I be better suited to harvest before the heatwave?
if those photos are current i would guess you have more like 2 weeks left. Im seeing lots of white hairs still. harvesting soon your buds wont have a very high thc content and i feel you would be very dissipointed. but if your humidity is high and heat is also high you risk bud rot. air movement will be key to keeping it away. if you are really on edge you could harvest a single plant. which will give you some and allow for more air movement between the rest of them.
We've had some really warm weather the past few days. This morning, just before the lights switched off, i saw it was 31.1 degrees C in the grow tent. Are the yellowing leaves a concern? The yellowest leaves are really brittle. I don't believe they're under-waterd.
It's not heat stress since that would be evident at the top of your plants - closest to the lights. My take is that this is their natural fade as they get ready for harvest and nothing at all to worry about... trim the yellow, brittle ones off if you want - they're not contributing to the plant at all any longer and you'll spend a WEE BIT shorter time in trim jail! LOL!
Good luck.... and happy harvesting!
