StunFlower The buckets are bubbling and this time out I'll be trying another offering from my local seed bank's ever-growing collection of 'souvenirs'. I'll be growing a strain I know and love but have never grown before, Larry OG. Larry OG, also known as “Lemon Larry,” “Sour Larry,” and “Zour Larry” is yet another member of the famous ocean-grown strain family. Originally created in Orange County, this indica marijuana strain is a cross between OG Kush and SFV OG. Larry OG produces a potent yet easy body buzz that will allow you to relax while getting things done. The effects of Larry OF are happy but not overwhelming. Like other members of the OG family, this strain has a very clean and piney aroma. The nugs tend to be dense and feature distinct burnt orange hairs that are longer than average. - Genetics: 50% Sativa/50% Indica - Flowering Time: 50-60 days - THC: 24% - CBD Level: Low (<2%) I soaked the seed overnight in distilled water and then popped the seed directly into a pete plug the next day. I placed the plug into a grow tray containing some PH balanced, filtered water. I placed the tray on top of a seedling heat mat and placed a humidity dome on top of the tray. Seed sprouted within 48 hours and the first root broke through the pete plug about 48 hours after that. I transplanted the seedling into a 4" net pot containing clay pellets today, 7 days after soaking the seed. A moderate dose of nutes in the rez, EC .5 and PH at 6.0. She'll get top feedings until her roots break through the net pot. The plan is to veg for 3-4 weeks before setting up the ScrOG and flipping things to flower. The lighting in the tent has been upgraded so I'm keen to see what differences it will make 😎 Off we go with another grow. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower The Larry OG is doing well. I was giving her daily top feedings up until the roots started showing through the net pot a couple of days ago; 5 days after being moved to the bucket. There's been feed in her bucket since the transplant last week and I won't be changing things up for another week as she's just started sipping her drink. I had to bring the PH down a little earlier in the week, but other than that I haven't made any adjustments. Things should take off over the next couple of weeks and you can look forward to my usual dance moves - FIM, ScrOG, pancake. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower Larry OG ic coming along. The plant fell victim to a little bit of nute burn due to some overfeeding but has bounced back. The effects were much more pronounced on her tent mate, Grandaddy Bruce. Rez change today and the VeloKelp is now out of the mix. Visited my local hydro supply store to pick up a few things last week and had a great discussion with the owner about nutrients. She highly discouraged the use of VeloKelp in DWC, stating it had the potential to cause more harm than good given that not everything in the product can be easily absorbed, and further, had the potential to attract gnats, promote mould/fungus and rot. She also said to use a light hand with Nature's Candy because complex carbohydrates can't be broken down in DWC and can attract some pretty nasty microbes. This is something that has been pointed out to me before by a fellow DWC grower, the wise and powerful, @Oozlefinch 😉 The plants seem to be good with the new lighting. Currently, it's about 30" above the canopy (such as it is) at 50% power. I plan to FIM her later in week and get her ready for flower, hopefully after week 4. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower Larry OG is doing fine, growing strong and healthy. Gave 'her' a FIMing and lollipopping two days ago and the plan is to switch the lights to flowering by this time next week. I turned up the light intensity a smidge, now running at 60%. I'll ramp it up as she starts to fill out. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower The Larry OG is growing great. She is growing very enthusiastically through the stretch so I undertook some pretty serious super cropping and stretched her out further into the ScrOG so she doesn't get away from Grandaddy Bruce growing next to her (she hasn't stretched much at all up to this point). I'm trying to keep the the two canopies as even as I can. She's getting hungrier; topping up about 2 litres/day. Looking forward to watching Larry flower. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower Larry OG is doing great. The pom-poms are getting bigger and a bit of frost is starting to set in on the leaves around them. Rez change today. EC has been running .8-.9 and PH has been between 5.8-6.0. Pruned a few branches to keep things open and balanced. So far, I like what I'm seeing with this plant. StunFlower Larry OG is handling my abuse remarkably well and I hope for even better things now that I'm treating her right 😅 Turns out my EC pen was reading very low and after calibrating it I discovered readings that I thought were around 1.0 EC (500 PPM) were actually 2.5 (1250 PPM). Yikes. I've adjusted her beverage accordingly. (Note to self: check your equipment regularly.) Buds are starting to swell and the frost is setting in. There's a tang in the air. StunFlower Larry's looking pretty sweet. Having a nice, colourful finish with lot's of purples. Buds are smallish, but rock hard and frosty AF. She has a great lemon, pine scent. Very close to harvest - probably by the end of the week. Top buds showing some amber. Rez change today and a much weaker drink. There will likely just be water topups until harvest, but no flush per-say. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower I had expected Larry would be hanging to dry by now but I'm just waiting on more amber trichomes to start showing on some of the lower bud sites - should only be a few more days. Buds are hard and tight, coated with frost. Smell is lemon and pine. Can't wait to sample this dank. Next update should be the harvest report. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

StunFlower As usual, a few challenges and missteps along the way, but pretty happy with this grow in the end. The strain proved to be pretty resilient given I overfed the crap out of her for several weeks as my EC meter was out of calibration. Overall growth may have been somewhat stunted but still resulted in some of the hardest buds I've grown to date - thanks in large part to the upgraded lighting.

Hey Stun! Just read your reply regarding Kelp. That might be very true, but what Ive also noticed giving even little too much too early causes stunted/midget growth. But this can be used as an advantage later on when the stretch phase is bout to begin. By then little overdoing kelp should inhibit the stretch and result should be tighter node spacing. I also just fired up new DWC plant (diarys not up yet tho) but mixed Kelp in her first res and noticed how shes growing a bit abnormally.

@Verbalist, I know Kelp has its advantages, but at this point I'm ok without having it in the mix. I honestly can't say I noticed any huge benefit to using it as opposed to other grows where I didn't. All the best with your grows. I'll be peaking in to see how they progress 👍

Very impressive grow man. What temp is your water bro? I know it says 19c but tat would be best impossible if your canopy lvl is 30c mine is only 26.5 and my water temp nvr drops below 22 with contanst frozen glass bottles added and PH'ed ice. If it is 19c how do you get it to stay at that level. Need all the tips I can get thanks.

@gottagrowsometime, My water temps stay pretty manageable during the winter months (I'm in Canada). I'm setup in the basement and the concrete floor stays pretty cool which helps with temps in the buckets. My exhaust fan is also vented to the outdoors which helps keep the residual heat out of the grow space. I've also wrapped my buckets with black and white poly film. It does a great job of reflecting/blocking light. During the summer months it can be a struggle. My water temps will get up to 22c. @Oozle grows in coolers which is an ingenious way to manage temps in DWC. Good luck with your grows! 👊

@StunFlower, They work well, the hot air sometimes still can heat up the water, but the coolers are thick. If I use colder water to top off the reservoirs I rarely get over 68f (20c). @gottagrowsometime, try to keep your pump under your canopy, that will drop your temps a lot.
