Aquarices May 18th 2018 Starting on the second grow and decided a grow diary was in order. Let's just hope that I don't repeat any of the mistakes that I had last grow. No overwatering and no underfeeding. Yield is secondary to quality. Going for a more sedated. couchlock effect so this may be a longer grow than last time. Seed germinated in a paper towel between two saucers without issue. Showed her face for the first time today. May 25th 2018 She's looks pretty normal for 1 week old, just starting on the second set of leaves. For the first week I've been giving her a light dose of both Bio Root and Seaweed; giving her just enough to keep damp without getting soggy. Next week I'll up it to 3/4 or even full strength.

Aquarices June 1, 2018 Growth has been slowed due to several overcast days in a row. Weather is looking to heat up next week though. Still looks pretty healthy and normal for her age, basically doubling in height. Boosted bio root and seaweed to 10ml and 5ml respectively. She's even been getting a little bit of rainwater.

Aquarices June 9th, 2018 Not growing as much as I expected, especially from an autoflower. It's not bad enough to cull, but I've seen better at this stage. Feeding schedule was the same as last week. I haven't seen any preflowers yet, so I don't expect to start using any grow or bloom nutes until I'm sure the soil has been used up. For now its still full strength Bio Roots and G.O. Seaweed.

Aquarices June 15th, 2018 Now Lucy is starting to pick up steam. By day 28, she's developed some preflower pistils. I'm really hoping the cooler nighttime temps will give her a rich purple color as it's starting to look like I got a pheno that wants to. Growth is really healthy and she's just starting to lush out. Still have not fed her a growth or bloom nute yet and it's really pushing my patience. Four weeks in and still no sign of a deficiency. I'm gonna keep this simple and wait for her to ask to be fed. For now its still 10ml of roots and 5 ml of seaweed.

Aquarices June 22, 2018 I'm officially putting Lucy in flower status. She has at least seven bud sites that I have counted so far and they all look purple af! She's gonna be a lanky one though, as she stretched from 8" to 15". She's got some long empty spaces inbetween her nodes and I'm thinking I might have to support her at some point. Light and air don't seem to be an issue. I decided to start on a low dose of bloom, Bio bud, BioMarine and CalMag. It's been 5 weeks and I'm starting to see some paleness, probably just me being impatient though. Also treated her with some neem oil to deal with some insects. Read that it's safe for buds up until harvest, but we'll see.

Aquarices June 29th, 2018 Lucy's getting more and more purple every day! She really didn't stretch all that much last week, just two inches. Not much vegetative growth either...She's going to be small and hopefully fat. Other than that, she still looks healthy and on track for a decent harvest. I see her going a little longer than 8 weeks though, more like 10ish.

Grow Questions

Aquaricesstarted grow question 7y ago
I have a pretty decent heat wave stretch coming my way late next week after the 4th. What’s the best way to protect an outdoor crop in full sun during a heatwave? Obviously the easiest way would be to move it, (she’s in a container) but I have a tarp on hand as well.

Hi there if you’re going to be at home then you can monitor your crop and how they are holding up. I can see you’re using the GO line of nutrients I’ve used them and think highly of them especially the kelp product Bio Weed using this in combination with your Dimond Back you’re plant will be able to handle the heat much more effectively. Start feeding it light feeds whilst it’s cooler. Then do a heavy feed with good run off to saturate the pot on the morning of a day you expect to be hot. Be careful not to overwater though as this in turn will have negative effects when it’s hot. If you would like a tip get a airstone and pump and always bubble your water 24 hours before adding your nutrients. Good job so far!

Aquarices July 6th, 2018 She's pretty much on cruise control now. For the last two feedings, she's been on a heavy diet of bloom nutes and hasn't complained. As she continues to fatten up, I'll dial it back a little for the next feeding and more still the following week. I have an eye on starting the flush week 9 if she has a decent amount of amber trics. I think I'll let her go a minimum of 10 weeks to get that good couchlock effect, though I've seen grows in the archives that went longer. We'll see...

Aquarices July 13, 2018 Starting to see some pistil color change on the ol' gal. I can discern a mix of red, orange and rust colored hairs. I haven't broken out the jeweler loupe yet, so I don't know what the trics look like. I can say that they are frosty, present and all accounted for! I think I'm pushing the flush start back to week 10 so she can go a bit longer. The recent heatwave isn't affecting her as much as I thought, though I did move her to an ideal spot in the garden that's partially shaded during the hottest part. Oh, I forgot to mention that she took a spill off the platform that I have her on! She suffered minor injuries, no broken limbs, and a little dirt on her lower buds. All things considered, she's growing healthy and taking everything in stride. It's getting close to the end now, keep coming back every Friday for updates!

Aquarices July 21, 2018 Still fattening up. Still looks absolutely amazing! No bug damage or mold with just a slight yellowing of the fan leaves from the lower nutes I've been giving her. I have, what I guess to be, between 60-70 percent pistil color change. I haven't put a jeweler loupe to her, but just from the pistil color change I'll go ahead and commence the flush effective immediately. I plan to flush for a week or two with some plain ol' ph'd agua. It might be because she's been outside this whole time, but she doesn't smell loud at all. Actually, she has more of an earthy smell with a hint of coco. Should be interesting to smell and taste once she's all dried, cured, and ground up.

Funny I see your diary- this morning when I opened one of the tents another John Lennon song started playing and has been stuck in my head all day. Monday is my day for updates- check out my diary “Sheila “ and you’ll get a laugh. Lucy looks good 👍🏼

@ChefDan420, Thanks for the compliment! I'll be sure to check that grow for updates on Monday. Right now it looks like a pretty awesome ScrOG grow...so many tops!!

Good luck! What thoughts have you done on harvesting? Looks about similar to mine😀

Aquaricescommented7y ago
@Magich, My process usually consist of taking a few small wet samples from the lower half, drying half of it, then comparing the two. Since this strain is more indica leaning I’ll let it go a little while longer than usual for an auto, like 11 weeks or so, then chop when I see mostly red hairs and amber trics.
